The Brookville Fire Department was honored to have the Richard Montgomery Chapter of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution attend the Fire Prevention Week Open House this past weekend to recognize two of our own, Firefighter/Paramedic Phoenix Robinson and Firefighter/Paramedic Gavin McGriff. each received a Fire Safety Commendation Award from the Sons. Robinson was the 2023 EMS Provider of the Year for BFD, and McGriff the 2023 Firefighter of the Year for BFD. Cool piece of #BrookvilleHistory and how Ward Park came to be. Per the Brookville Historical Society: "A.R. Ward was a successful furniture dealer and undertaker in Brookville in the late 19th century. This circa 1900 photo of Addison Ward's hearse was taken in front of his residence on Hay Avenue at the corner of Walnut Street. The land for Ward Park, named in Addison's honor, was donated by Mr. Ward in 1927, due to his concern that the children of Brookville have a safe place to play." #BrookvilleHistoricalSociety #BrookvilleCommunity #BrookvilleParks #BrookvilleOhio #BluePride #BrookvilleProud #TheBrookvilleWay

Brookville is blessed by having our own Community Theater that offers a diverse selection of performances over the course of the year. This is sure to be another great show. Two great new businesses opened their doors in #HistoricDowntownBrookville over the past few days. PURE Beauty-Bar held their grand opening at their new store at 21 Market St. this past weekend. PURE Beauty-Bar offers the Brookville community and surrounding region a host of various beauty and cosmetic services. Mulberry & Main officially opened their doors this morning, 10/8/24, at 130 Main St. Mulberry & Main is an eclectic space offering the community a vintage antique store, an artisan coffee shop, delicious food options and a wide range of beer taps to sample. The store also offers outdoor seating in the relaxing downtown environment. It feels like every time I turn my head, there's another great review of a Brookville restaurant or business. The latest was for #BrookvilleGrille which has great food and pies among other delicacies. If you're in town sometime, check them out in Brookside Plaza on Wolf Creek Road, just east of Arlington Road.
