We met with Alexander Prill, Director Business Development & Cooperations at LANG AG and discussed three LED products, one 0.9mm product, looking at the pixel pitch a realistic size would be 150” in native 4k resolution. This might exceed possibilities on a yacht except for the mega Superyachts, but might be interesting for residential and other applications (or for those, who do go for the biggest). The second product is the deployable transparent LED in 3mm and 6mm, which can be glued on any transparent surface or even, as shown on their booth, just suspended w/o any carrier material, avoiding all grids of the traditional “transparent” LED products. From the outside it shows bright colourful LED pictures and effects, but from the inside it is almost invisible. This product is currently hyped in fashion shows, but consider the potential for yachts, particularly when it comes to flexibility and ease of storage. Finally, we saw a 1.9mm (outdoor) product with high brightness and therefore a fantastic solution for indoor or outdoor yacht applications. With the luminosity, it is perfect to withstand sunny ambient light and also to show extraordinary HDR content. At the same time being sealed, it will resist sea-salted humidity, which can never be completely avoided on a yacht. So electrical contacts are already protected w/o having to do custom-made solutions to enjoy nice pictures even years after installation.
