Hi, connections A Healthy nurse takes care of their personal health, safety, and wellness and lives life to their fullest capacity. A Healthy Nurse™ is a better role model, educator, and advocate – personally, for the family, for the community, for the work environment, and for the patient. However, nurses struggle with health and wellness. Stress, work shift demands, lack of rest, unhealthy diets, and poor exercise practices have contributed to a growing and serious issue for the profession, nurses themselves – and even their patients. The Foundation has prioritised helping nurses be healthier. We are proud funders of the free nurse wellness program Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ HNHNworks to improve the nation's health - one nurse at a time. Connecting and engaging nurses, employers, organizations, and schools of nursing, focuses on five domains: physical activity, sleep, nutrition, quality of life, and safety. This web platform and social media inspire healthy action, friendly competition, and provide content and resources. HNHNalso gathers data to identify trends and needs in nurse health, safety, and wellness #snsinstitution #snsdesignthinking #snsdesignthinkers

According to the American Nurses Foundation’s findings from a new mental health and wellness survey of more than 9,500 nurses, over 34% of nurses rated their emotional health as not, or not at all, emotionally healthy. Among nurses who said they intend to leave their position in the next 6 months, close to half cited work negatively affecting their health and well-being (48%) as a top reason followed closely by insufficient staffing (41%). #selfcareforhealthcare #nurses #mentalhealth https://lnkd.in/gTh7qHz9

### Time Management Tips for Nurses: Balancing Patient Care and Professional Duties Nursing is a demanding profession that requires a delicate balance between providing high-quality patient care and managing a host of professional duties. With the fast-paced environment and unexpected challenges, effective time management becomes crucial. Here are some practical tips to help nurses balance their responsibilities more efficiently: #### Prioritize Tasks Start each shift by identifying the most critical tasks. Prioritizing patient needs and safety ensures that essential duties are addressed promptly. Utilize a priority matrix or checklist to keep track of urgent versus non-urgent tasks. #### Use Technology Wisely Leverage technology to streamline tasks. Electronic health records (EHRs) can reduce paperwork and improve communication. Familiarize yourself with hospital software and apps designed to assist with scheduling, reminders, and patient information management. #### Delegate When Possible Nursing requires teamwork. Don’t hesitate to delegate tasks to nursing assistants or collaborate with colleagues. Sharing responsibilities can prevent burnout and ensure that patient care is not compromised. #### Set Realistic Goals Break down large tasks into smaller, manageable steps. Setting realistic daily goals can help maintain focus and reduce stress. Celebrate small accomplishments, as they build momentum and keep morale high. #### Practice Self-Care Taking care of yourself is vital to managing work responsibilities. Ensure you get adequate rest, hydration, and nutrition. Short mindfulness exercises or deep-breathing techniques during breaks can reduce stress levels and improve concentration. #### Communicate Effectively Regular communication with the healthcare team, patients, and their families ensures everyone is on the same page. Effective communication prevents misunderstandings and reduces time spent on resolving conflicts. #### Learn to Say No Knowing your limits and saying no to non-essential tasks can prevent overload. Focus on activities that align with your core responsibilities and patient outcomes. #### Continual Learning Stay informed about new time management strategies and updates in healthcare practices. Attend workshops or online courses to develop skills that enhance efficiency. By incorporating these time management strategies, nurses can juggle their duties more effectively, ensure high standards of patient care, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Embracing these principles not only benefits personal well-being but also contributes to a more productive and harmonious work environment.

🌟 I hosted an incredible free workshop yesterday! 🌟 I had the pleasure of connecting with so many passionate nurse coaches and leaders during our session on "The Power of Hospital-Based Nurse Coaching vs. Traditional HR Wellness Programs." We dove into some critical topics, including: 👩⚕️ The stark difference between traditional HR wellness programs and the personalized support that nurse coaching offers. We discussed how nurse coaching is uniquely positioned to reduce burnout and turnover by addressing the specific challenges nurses face every day. 🏥 The shocking costs of nurse turnover—did you know the average cost in the U.S. of replacing just one nurse is $58,400 (on top of their salary)? We explored how nurse coaching can be a game-changer, not just for nurse well-being but also for hospital finances. 👨⚕️ Why nurse coaches are essential in today’s healthcare environment. We talked about the unique trust and connection nurse coaches can build with their peers, making a significant difference in both nurse satisfaction and patient care. For those who couldn’t make it, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered. 🎥 Drop a comment or send me a message, and I’ll be happy to send you the recording. Let’s continue this important conversation about how we can transform nurse wellness and retention in our hospitals. #nursecoaching #burnoutprevention #hospitalleadership #NurseWellness #HealthcareInnovation #hospitalbasednursecoaching
