https://lnkd.in/eD8pRtpM One vehicle safety innovation I helped invent and conceptualise, following a tragic truck reversing pedestrian accident in Spring Bank, Hull, UK and "pulling out" motorcycle accidents as a member of Yorkshire MAG (motorcycle action group), as forwarded to ROSPA, our then PCC and published at our June 2018 CIEHF conference. An early adopter was Rolls Royce. Using multiple angle peripheral cameras, a 360 degree "God's eye view" could be stiched together into a sphere to create a 360 degree live display (a "mixed reality" display) with computer generated parking aids overlayed. My original proposal wanted to preserve truly spherical wrap-round 'pudding bowl' integrated driver displays, but they were flattened and computer corrected #ergonomics #humanfactors #humancentereddesign #displays #roadsafety

Main Problems Solved by the LUVIEW Rearview System ☑Blind Spots: Large vehicles have significant blind spots due to their length and height. The rearview system effectively covers these blind spots. ☑Reversing Difficulty: Large vehicles require higher precision when reversing. The rearview system provides a clear rearview image, helping drivers to reverse safely. ☑Driving Safety: It is difficult to perceive the situation behind large vehicles while driving. The rearview system offers real-time monitoring, reducing the risk of collisions and scrapes. ☑Low Light Conditions: Traditional rearview mirrors are less effective at night or in low light conditions. The rearview system's night vision feature ensures clear imaging in all lighting conditions. As a HGV driver for over 25 years I've experienced or witnessed the collisions caused by the "Blind Spots" due to the configuration of the mirrors pillars and vehicle bodies, the major cause is "Failed to See” due to the vehicle design. "You can't give priority, avoid or react to people that you can't see !!! You can’t see through solid objects - (pillars, mirrors or vehicle bodies) Dealing with the Blind Spots on a daily basis, I'm passionate about producing a cost effective retrofittable solution to tackle the Blind Spot problem that drivers face every day, this is the reason we’ve developed - “Viz-Ovalz®” Direct Vizion System, Blind Spot Lenses, Viz-Able Safe Seen. Viz-Ovalz® Direct Vizion System - a new and improved retrofittable Fresnel lens that: - Is easily attached to the inside of vehicle windscreens beside the Blind Spots (A pillars and Vehicle Bodies) - Can be easily fitted and adjusted and to suit every driver and vehicle. - Expands a driver’s peripheral field of view overall by 90 degrees (30 left, right and forward.) The lenses align to the Transport for London (TfL) Direct Vision Standard, launched in 2021 to improve drivers' direct vision through the cab windows of HGVs and prevent collisions caused by limited visibility. For more information on Viz-Ovalz® visit info@viz-ovalz.scot or contact Mobile++44 (0) 7708091511 Office 01259 726417 #visionzero #roadsafety #fleetsafety #blindspots #cyclists, #collisionavoidance #savinglives https://lnkd.in/epmMcCv2
The reason I developed "Viz-Ovalz® (Vision-Ovals) Blind Spot Lenses is to reduce the amount of Fatalities, Serious Life Changing Injuries and Collisions that happen on our roads every day. Did you know that the Government released its latest figures on road crashes, revealing that 1,711 people died on British roads in 2022, a rise of 10% from 2021. A further 28,031 people suffered serious injuries. “Drivers can’t give priority, avoid or react to people that they can’t see.” Transport for London statistics show that 78% of Cyclists deaths involve a Truck!!! (Vehicle design restricts the Drivers field of view.)(Transport for London #DVS) Every Death is a Tragedy, and every Crash is Preventable!!! We’ve developed the retrofittable Viz-Ovalz® Direct Vizion System to enhance your drivers hazard perception by expanding their peripheral field of view, we’ve achieved this by using government tested and proven Lens technology that reduced side swipe collisions by 59%. Viz-Ovalz® Direct Vizion Systems “Blind Spot Lenses will give fleet managers and business owners peace of mind that they have done everything in their power to reduce blind spot collisions, and drivers can do their job with confidence, knowing that they have a maximum view of the road.” For more information on Viz-Ovalz® visit mailto:info@viz-ovalz.scot or contact Mobile++44 (0) 7708091511 Office 01259 726417 #visionzero #collisionavoidance #roadsafety #fleetmanagement #fleetsafety #blindspots #dvs

Vehicle Camera/monitor/Dashcam /Radar system/Air pump /Automatic driving assistance system /ADAS /DMS/BSD etc.
Why We Need Heavy Duty Camera System? ✅ heavy daty vehicles often have many blind spots, so the driver needs a camera system to see the surrounding environment. ✅ heavy duty vehicles often work in harsh environments, sometimes there is a heavy dust, or rains but some vehicles have no windows , so a dustproof and waterproof camera system is very necessary. Here please see Luview's heavy duty camera system. 👏 🔸 The whole system including monitor and cameras are waterproof and dustproof. Suitable for various harsh environments. 🔸 The cameras have built-in white light, which can provide lighting for the driver even when working in a dark environment. 🔸 The cameras have a wide angle and can provide the driver with the surrounding environment of the vehicle, which improving work efficiency and safety. If you are interested in our camera system, please contact us for more information! 😉 #camerasystem #heavydutyvehicles #vehiclecamera

Excellent video which convincingly explains how 100 years of car-centric urban design has given us unsafe streets, traffic, health problems, and the loneliness epidemic. Perhaps the most shocking part is near the beginning. Where the host explains how the auto industry used propaganda and lobbying to legally push people out of the streets. And make streets the exclusive domain of cars - except for a bit on the side. I hope that a century from now, future people will look back and say "wow, that was dumb". And by then they'll have fixed all these issues and be flying around in electric autonomous vehicles. When they're not walking and biking around 15 minute smart cities. #urbandesign #cycling #mobility
