Here's a sneak peak at my film, "SIDELINES," which explores the world of high school sports media, and how it's transitioned from traditional mediums, like local newspapers, to newer digital platforms. Special thanks to J. Mike Blake and Kai Jones for allowing me to share their personal stories! #sportsmedia #documentary #film #highschoolsports

Cats, Death and Chocolate... Those are just some of the themes we explored with University of Exeter Archaeology and History Department on their Research Away Day. We love giving these workshops where we take a team out of their comfort zone and into the creative space. In this case, we developed 10 short films about what the department is doing. It's great to see everyone really get stuck in with the challenges... AND of course you learn so much by just speaking to historians and archaeologist, like: the connection between cats and overfishing; how we can learn more from lies than from truths; and the history of magic... Good work everyone! The films will be ready soon...
Had an amazing Research Away day at the Hall today, which will result in some cool short videos 😍 Facilitated by Guy Natanel from Preston Street Films. 👀 Watch this space!

Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Member (Marvelous Movie Maven) | Customer Care Professional for LearnQuest
This was my 5th year being a voting member of Philadelphia Film Critics Circle. Every year we communicate via Discord with each other prior to nominating films – discussing stuff we saw outside of the ones being put up for awards season, which we all see via screenings and screeners. We encourage one another to see personal favorites. My big ones were the two docs I saw during BlackStar Film Festivall: INVISIBLE BEAUTY & THE SPACE RACE. Another fav I saw during Sundance from Mexico, that I don’t believe got distribution: RADICAL. And a small indie called SHARE? sent to me by a PR Agent I’d never dealt with before. But ultimately, either you can’t get enough of the other PFCC members to see your picks; or it’s difficult to get the screeners within our time frame; or not enough members are as enamored with your film choices to make a quorum. This is why it typically comes down to the same 5 – 8 movies that every other Critics Association winds up voting on; but this year was a real sweep by both OPPENHEIMER & Our Best Picture Winner POOR THINGS– review will be posted in my personal Top 20 Movies of 2023 List. HERE’S THE PHILADELPHIA FILM CRITICS CIRCLE WINNERS and RUNNERS UP for 2023... https://lnkd.in/ex2F_maG #philadelphiafilmcriticscircle #Movies2023 #filmindustry #awardsseason #awardwinningmovies #Oppenheimer #PoorThings #filmcritic #criticsassociation #films2023

Cultivating a network of great connections is a vital part becoming a successful filmmaker. From the people you pitch to the people you shoot and edit the film with to the people you engage for distribution and marketing, you need contacts that will represent your project well. Check out what Colin Geddes shares about how to do this in this 2nd segment on The M2M Project, with Sebastian MacLean. Also, share and comment: What are some ways you have grown a success network for your films? About to start a newly designed session on #filmtrailers (via Channel Talent) for GCSE and A Level film & media students across the UK. The real question is: how many trailers can I reasonably show / discuss in a 45 minute slot?
