How many of you know what a Relationship Manager does?🙋♂️🙋♀️🙋 It's not just a job title - it's a vital position that connects a company to the people and organizations that matter most. A Relationship Manager builds and nurtures relationships that drive business growth, revenue, and loyalty. They get to know their partners, understand their needs, goals, and challenges, and become a trusted advisor, confidant, and problem-solver. Through regular communication and personalized attention, they foster trust and understanding, identify opportunities for mutual growth, and innovate to improve. These relationships are the lifeblood of any company, opening doors, building rapport, and setting the stage for successful partnerships. By focusing on the needs of their partners, a Relationship Manager ensures that they are satisfied, supported, and empowered to succeed, leading to long-term success and prosperity for the business. Ultimately, the role of a Relationship Manager is to be the human face of the organization, embodying its values and mission, and making a meaningful impact on people and organizations by being present, face-to-face, and 'boots on the ground' - building connections that last a lifetime. And, if we're honest, these skills aren't just valuable in business - they're essential in our personal lives too. What should you include on your CV as a distribution executive? For each role, key points could include: 1) Coverage - Geography: by country, state, town or region - Channel: superannuation, insurers, endowment funds, multi-asset mangers, private wealth, IFAs, brokers, family offices, asset consultants or platforms - Asset class: asset class, sub-sector or notable strategies sold 2) Track Record - Capital raised: How much did you/your team contribute over the last financial year? In your best year with the firm? - Go-to-market: Did you assist with any go-to-market strategies, either individually or as part of a team? - Structuring: Did you assist with the structuring of any products? - KPIs: Did you meet/exceed any significant KPIs? 3) Role & Team - Sales/account management: % time prospecting vs. servicing existing clients - Team: How big was your team? Were you supported by Relationship/Account Managers, BDAs or product teams onshore? - Management: Did you have direct reports? Then, your bio might highlight your passions and working style - e.g. do you love getting into the technical side of investments, are you more relationship-driven or a blend of both? All of the above might be overkill, but too often I see CVs that are nondescript and high-level. Sure, we exist for a reason - but it's always useful to give hiring managers something they can refer back to or circulate internally.

3 Ways the Right Assistant Can Skyrocket Your Sales Business In this video, I discuss the importance of finding the right assistant to help elevate your sales business. Before hiring, it’s essential to identify the operational gaps between where your business is now and where you want it to be. The assistant you bring on should be focused on three key outcomes: improving the financial health of your company, taking the operational load off your shoulders, and bringing a higher level of expertise in certain areas than you currently possess. This role is crucial for freeing up your time to focus on driving sales and strategy while ensuring that the day-to-day details are handled with precision and skill. Paul J. Heidema

Director at Hunter Hughes Sales Recruitment Services 07975 507344 Interview Coaching/Careers advice/CV edit - Long term placements NOT quick fees! andrea@hunterhughes.co.uk
The joy of an open brief!!! For once we have a company that sees the value of recruiting talent and attitude rather than a 'black book'. I know that sometimes you have to buy in the contacts, I get it. But expecting people to join you from a competitor, for very little uplift, leads to the same faces doing the rounds and a very mediocre, lacklustre, team. I've had one of the most interesting and fun days for weeks. Speaking to enthusiastic, ambitious candidates who are itching for the chance to start their sales careers. If you give someone a chance to step up, you get more loyalty and they stay for longer. You are also adding to your company and industry and training up the next generation of sales managers. If you keep fishing in the same pool, soon you will find that it's empty!
