The new Rutgers Juvenile Justice & Youth Development Certificate Program elective "Invisible Barriers: Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) in Juvenile Justice" addresses the challenges faced by individuals with IDD in the juvenile justice system. Led by esteemed instructor Robyn Holt, Program Director of Criminal Justice Advocacy at The Arc of New Jersey, the course explores barriers to communication, legal rights, disparities, and societal biases, while tackling the school-to-prison pipeline. This course emphasizes advocacy and strategies for equitable treatment, empowering participants to promote justice and inclusivity for youth with IDD in the legal sphere.
