A long long time ago, I learned in a presentation class that if you wanted to keep your audiences attention when using presentation slides, keep the number of slides limited to the high points and keep the slides uncluttered (a picture and a few points). If the slide contained the full narrative, what's the point in having you present it in the first place? Keep it simple. Then they have to listen to you to connect the dots.
