First rule of PowerPoints: don’t read off the slides.

Training, particularly technical training, is not “one-size-fits-all” and there are techniques and methods to make it interesting, engaging, and effective. If your company has a training team, use their expertise!

I can't decide whether this is truer of academic work or industry data science, but I've seen more than my share of these! Challenge yourself to limit your presentation to a single slide, then you'll tell a much more compelling story

A long long time ago, I learned in a presentation class that if you wanted to keep your audiences attention when using presentation slides, keep the number of slides limited to the high points and keep the slides uncluttered (a picture and a few points). If the slide contained the full narrative, what's the point in having you present it in the first place? Keep it simple. Then they have to listen to you to connect the dots.

Small Talk. You know small talk is BIG. We know it's important to establish trust and connection in every meeting.
