Convenient sample preparation for long read sequencing MIRO CANVAS is a digital microfluidics (DMF) platform that allows low throughput workflow automation for complex protocols, such as NGS library preparation. The system is compatible with a wide range of reagents. This application note describes the results that can be expected when using the SMRTbell Prep Kit 3.0 in a protocol developed for the MIRO CANVAS. The resulting research use only libraries can then be sequenced using the PacBio sequencing systems. The field of #proteomics has been profoundly impacted by the pioneering work of Dr. Steve Gygi’s lab at Harvard Medical School. The Gygi lab has developed a suite of powerful tools for analyzing large #MassSpectrometry datasets. Some of the key algorithms they’ve developed include: • Monocle: Accurate assignment of monoisotopic peaks, which is essential for correctly identifying peptides. • AScore: Probability of correct phosphorylation site localization, based on information about site-determining ions. •Smart-TMT: A collection of real-time spectral identification, data acquisition, visualization, and analysis tools. Watershed offers custom solutions for integrating these and other analysis tools into your research. Check out the Gygi lab’s website to explore their software in more detail, read the papers that introduce them, and try them out for yourself! https://lnkd.in/ecfRAjh5

ASHG hasn't even started yet, but the fun has! Earlier today, Illumina announced that our latest flow cell (the NovaSeq X Series 25B) has arrived! What can the genomics world do with this? I'm glad you asked! -Sequence 128 human genomes per run. 128! -Sequence those human genomes for $200. -Analyze the expression patterns of 1B to 2B cells at once. B as in Billion. -Screen massive numbers of cells for drug targets and drug target discovery. -Access sequencing-hungry methods such as ctDNA analysis more cost-effectively. -More economically approach multiomics, such as transcriptomics + epigenetics. -Sequence deeper. Or sequence more samples. Or both! -Leverage plug & play DRAGEN pipelines and variant calling directly onboard. Or choose the lower-output 10B and 1.5B flow cells if this is too much horsepower for you. Come check it out for yourself at ASHG. Booth 623.

Over the last few years we have been developing the confidence in using PBPK in the early drug discovery space, by validating HT-PBPK modelling approaches to be implemented in our pipeline and accelerate discovery efforts. In our latest work, our colleague Andrea Andrews-Morger together with Michael Reutlinger, Neil Parrott and myself illustrate the development of a Machine learning framework that can improve rat clearance predictions from hepatocyte data based on compound's structure that can be used in PBPK models. This work helps solving the issue of clearance miss-predictions that we observed in our previous works. Check it out in Molecular Pharmaceutics (https://lnkd.in/e7x-miSH) and also see our previous works in these aspects for rats https://lnkd.in/efEXFZWr) and humans (https://lnkd.in/ecGmKDxP)
