One-third report increases in revenue and profitability over the past year, and half expect their AI investments to drive even greater profits in the year ahead. 🚀 Additionally, and contrary to the gloomy reports of hiring slowdowns, 42% of CEOs plan to increase headcount over the next 12 months—more than twice the number expecting reductions. 📈 Yet, trust remains the cornerstone of successful AI adoption. The mantra ‘Governance over Speed’ highlights the critical balance CEOs must strike: embracing AI’s potential while managing its risks responsibly. We are pleased to share the launch of our 28th Annual Global CEO Survey. PwC's CEO Survey is an annual deep dive into the views of business leaders on the economy, their own companies and the environment in which they operate. Approximately 4,700 CEOs worldwide participated in the survey, including 1,520 business leaders within the APAC region. It is interesting to observe that executives are somewhat more optimistic about the global economic growth amid the existing geopolitical uncertainties. CEOs also report early productivity gains from Generative AI and rising payoffs from investments in sustainability, however the challenge is to increase scope and speed. With sector boundaries blurring, the need to accelerate reinvention and enhance collaboration with other ecosystems is still top of the agenda.
