Top 5 Recruitment Mistakes in 2024 🤠 1. Obscure job titles - WTF is a Beverage Dissemination Officer?! (Apparently a barman...) 😖 2. Ghosting candidates or taking days to respond – because everyone loves dating... I mean, applying for jobs. 3. Lengthy job descriptions – Spoiler alert: Nobody reads past chapter 3. SELL your company to potential candidates! 4. Ignoring Culture Fit – It's only the entire workplace vibe at stake, right? 5. Not using eTalent to avoid not 1, but ALL of these faux pas! 😎 #Recruitment #HR #HiringMistakes #JobSearch #TalentAcquisition #Psychometrics #HiringRight

When needing to fill a position, don't make the hiring process too lengthy. In today's #restaurantbusiness a once simple #hiring process has now become too complicated, at times having to interview with as many as 3 or 4 people before being considered for the position you're applying for. I get it, companies want to hire the best candidate possible who they believe fits their mold and company profile the best. The problem with a lengthy hiring process is that each individual you are interviewing is also applying and interviewing with other companies, so by the time a company makes a decision, the person they wish to hire who they've narrowed down to being the perfect fit, may have already been hired elsewhere. If an applicant has the body of work, experience, the attitude, the recommendations and everything you're looking for, why wait? You may have let the perfect fit walk out the door. #business #humanresources #restaurant #restaurantindustry #applicants #talentaquisiton #restaurantmanager #restaurantmanagement #work #hireonthespot #talent #miami #foodanddrink #hospitality #hotel #foodandbeverage #interview

If the thought of using an Agency to help fill your vacancies fills you with dread, I get it. Especially If you've had a bad experience. But let me ask you a question: If you had a bad experience at a Restaurant, you'd probably avoid that one. But would it stop you going out to a different Restaurant? Of course it wouldn't. So why should working with a Recruiter be any different? Just some 'food' for thought (soz, I couldn't resist) 🍕 Also, cost - you are paying for a service when using a Recruiter. But, when you work with someone who's genuine, authentic, down-to-earth, doesn't hassle you every 2 hours & they actually deliver you good quality candidates, would you agree that it's Money well spent? Especially if it's saving you time, leaving you to focus more on your actual day job. 🙌🏻 Recruitment can be a lot of things. It can be hard, It can be painful, It can be a slog 🤢 But it doesn't have to be. 📞 01284 596944 📧 andy@elev8rec.io #Recruitment #Hiring #Pizza

🚨Recruiter tip: Increase the odds that you'll land the right job by cleaning up your social media and other online profiles. If you wouldn’t be proud to show your grandmother, your boss or a preacher the post, then it should be private. 💡 #GeckoHospitality #InterviewTips #restaurantmanagers #Restaurantmanager #Hospitality #Restaurants #Resumes #Alabamajobs #Restaurantcareers #cheflife #chefjobs Mike Tsirelis

Records Manager | Records Officer | Data Clerk | Records Administrator | Knowledge and Information Manager | Records Management Specialist | Librarian | Records and Information Archivist | Document Controller
Yesterday i went to a certain restaurant to drop my documents for waitressing. I met the owner of the restaurant and the first thing he said to me was "What do you want?" I contemplated on that question for a second, and answered "i came to drop my application for waitressing" He replied "No,i'm asking what do you want?" i said "a job", he then asked me personal questions, and we had an open conversation where he challenged me a lot and left me questioning my approach to looking for jobs.Amidst that conversation i realised he was never going to ask me to hand him over my documents. He then told me that i came to look for a waitressing job then why did i bring documents, because all he wants to see from me is how i communicate with people, how i react when i'm intimidated or challenged because that is all a waitress needs to be a qualified one. He told me to put away my documents and said " i'd rather listen to you explaining it why you want this job rather than reading lies from a cv, for a waitress you don't need to bring your cv we want to see how you perform, and are you telling me someone who never went to school does not deserve a job because they don't have a cv merely because they cannot write anything in it?" ..... What i learnt ? A CV may not reveal a candidate's true passion, motivation, or potential for growth and development within a role or organization. Interviewing candidates and conducting additional assessments or tests can provide a more holistic view of an individual's capabilities and potential contribution to a company. Therefore, relying solely on a CV to make hiring decisions could result in missing out on strong candidates who may not have an impressive resume but possess the qualities and potential needed to excel in a role. #careerdevelopment #jobsearch

Organizational Coach & Passionate Youth Sports Advocate "Take care of your people first, they will take care of the problems"
The process my son had to undergo to get a job as a local restaurant busser. Step 1: Apply online at Indeed (Really....for a teenager applying to bus tables?) Step 2: Get called in to fill out an "actual" application at the restaurant. 🙄 Step 3: Interview (to their credit, they interviewed him there on the spot) Step 4: Wait for call for job offer...which came about 30 minutes later. (Uh, clearly you were planning to hire him, why not just do it on the spot?) Really? All of that to bus tables? I mean, it's been a really long time since I was a teenager working at entry level jobs but this is a bit much. My experience went like this. Step 1: Apply in person (there was no "online" back then) Step 2: Interview on the spot (we didn't waste time having people go back and forth) Step 3: Job offer on the spot Step 4: Began Intro to orientation (with full orientation at a later date) on the spot. Everything done in about less than an hour...from application to hiring. Am I missing something here?

At The Liquor Collective, we are dedicated to providing the best for our clients, and take pride in our rigorous hiring process to ensure all our staff meet the highest standards. Here’s a insight into how we select and onboard our team at TLC: Our Comprehensive Hiring Process: 📄Application Form: Interested candidates complete an application form detailing the events they are interested in, their location, and their CV. Our office team reviews each CV, requiring a minimum of one year of competent bar experience for bartenders and a personal license qualification for managers. 📞Phone Call: Qualified candidates receive a phone call for an initial conversation and are then scheduled for an online video interview. 📹Video Interview: During the video call, candidates are quizzed on their bar knowledge, discuss their previous experience, and have their right-to-work documents checked. ✅Reference and Onboarding: Successful interviewees receive an onboarding pack, which includes: A detailed form for additional information. A request for a previous employer’s reference. A zero-hour contract and an employee handbook. All staff must receive a positive reference to join TLC, once we receive this we create their profile so they can start applying for shifts. 🧑💻First Shift Evaluation: A head office member is always on-site for the new hire’s first shift to review their performance and ensure they meet our standards. We also offer regular training to promote progression within the company. This meticulous process ensures that all our staff at TLC are carefully vetted, fully qualified, and equipped to provide superior and reliable service at all our events. When you choose TLC, you can be confident that you are getting the best. #BarStaffing #QualityService #EventStaffing #TheLiquorCollective #Hiring #ClientSatisfaction
