Third year Athletic Training student at Texas Lutheran University. Pursuing a masters degree in Athletic Training and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. Class of 2027
DEGREE/CAREER QUESTION❓ I am currently working on getting my masters in athletic training and my bachelors in kinesiology. However I want to do more with my career. I would like to be involved in the development of rules and regulations for athletic trainers in a way that allows for them to have more protection while performing their duties. I often see major corporations firing AT’s for simply doing their jobs. I feel that AT’s lack legal protection in comparison to other health professionals and this is something that could be addressed and changed for the better. After I graduate I am considering a degree in Sports Law. Any advice for me? Does anyone work in that field or have experience in sports law? Am I making up a job that doesn’t exist? 😂 Please comment any advice or like to help me get to the maximum amount of professionals even if you don’t have any knowledge in this area. #athletictraining #sports #law #sportslaw #sportsmedicine #trainer #compliance #career #advice #degree #college #NATA #discussion #careeradvice #education #training #physicaltherapy #coaching #learning #sportmedicine #sportsperformance #sportscience #sports #coaching #performance #sportsmedicine #physicaltherapy #rehabilitation #StrengthandConditioning #rehab #fitness #S&C #training #physicalpreparation #PT #health #training #coaching #environment #sportsmedicine #physicaltherapy #kinesiology

New paper published today. Players recruited more recently to academies are fitter than they were previously. Reference values within clubs that establish first team requirements will contribute to appropriate planning and implementation of training. Most physical changes associated with changes in height and weight. Academy recruiters may consciously or subconsciously be recruiting players based on physicality. Thanks to Dave Clark Michael Mcardle Patrick Maughan and Donald Reid for the support. https://lnkd.in/e6yJ_Cj5

There is a false narrative that a #collegesoccer coach will NOT go to a High School match to assess players. Perhaps there is a sampling of coaches who refuse to attend a HS ⚽️ game, but I categorically assure you that it’s not true across this nation 🇺🇸 Granted, this varies widely from community to community but there are more college coaches scouting HS too in this country than those that are not This DOES NOT mean they are just showing up to see who might be good, but that’s not how successful coaches recruit anyhow. They get a recommendation from a trusted source, then they figure out the most efficient way to assess that player. It might be HS, or club, or a tournament or a camp & sometimes it has to be film 🎥 only & they are willing to take a gamble because of a strong relationship with the people who recommended the player. But I 💯 assure you that #collegesoccer coaches will use HS matches as an assessment vehicle if it makes sense to the Need help? Just ask Sports Recruiting USA #RIGHTFIT

As an Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach, I help athletes of all ages enhance strength, speed, power, agility, flexibility, nutrition, injury prevention, and self-confidence.
"Sit with warriors, the conversation is different" aligns perfectly with the training ethos and environment fostered by our team. Here's how: Warriors: In this context, "warriors" represent the dedicated athletes who train at Skolfield Sports Performance. These individuals are committed to their craft, consistently pushing their limits, and striving for excellence in their respective sports or fitness goals. The Conversation: Beyond just the literal exchange of words, "the conversation" encompasses the collective energy, focus, and dedication that permeate the training sessions at SSP. It's not just about lifting weights or running drills; it's about engaging in a mindset where everyone pushes each other to be their best selves. Different: The word "different" underscores the unique atmosphere and culture cultivated at Skolfield Sports Performance. It suggests that the discussions, encouragement, and support among athletes and coaches go beyond the ordinary. It's about fostering a community where every individual is motivated to excel and support others in their journey. Overall, "Sit with warriors, the conversation is different" at Skolfield Sports Performance emphasizes the transformative nature of training alongside like-minded individuals who are driven to achieve greatness. It speaks to the idea that the camaraderie, encouragement, and shared pursuit of excellence elevate the training experience to a whole new level. #skolfieldsportsperformance

Why I became a performance consultant? I never wanted my passion, impact, knowledge, and expertise to be limited to the gym and basketball court. Mentoring young trainers eager to be an asset goes beyond showing on the court! I get excited when I am consulting or teaching fantastic groups of young trainers eager to elevate their game in the world of strength and conditioning! It's always exhilarating to share knowledge, experience, philosophy and discuss some of the latest in performance enhancement, injury prevention, and athlete development. Seeing the enthusiasm and dedication in their eyes is truly inspiring. Here's to shaping the future of sports science together! Keep pushing the limits, stay curious, and remember, the best trainers are lifelong learners. Super hot take here And I wanna preface this with I appreciate and understand the need for recognition for athletic trainers and the profession as a whole. I understand that we need to continue to lobby for the profession and advance the profession, but we are still stuck on one thing. Why is it a big deal to be called “Trainer”? I understand that we are indeed athletic trainers but in my opinion, even if I’m called trainer I’m being wanted/needed by someone. They at least recognize that I can offer services to them and they know that I am the only one present (situationally) to provide those services. At tournaments everybody just refers to you as trainer over a radio but they recognize that the “trainer” is there to take care of the athlete Not saying that we should just accept being called trainers, but maybe we shouldn’t be so negative about it when people at least recognize that we “trainers” are there for the athletes. What’s the first thing a coach screams when someone gets hurt? Who do the refs wave onto the field or ask for? Who do the kids seek out at their schools when they are injured? Don’t accept it, but don’t be angered by it. Be happy and glad that you are being wanted for anything in the first place
