This post is in my personal capacity Navigating HR challenges in talent attraction, grooming, and retention under VUCA conditions is a crucial task for organizations. VUCA conditions pose a paradox for HR professionals, making it challenging to sustain and thrive amidst turbulence. Hi Connections. It has been a while i have shared some of my perspectives. Want to share some new perspective on the concept called 'Belief". Today, let's delve into the concept of "Belief." Belief forms the bedrock of trust, and trust is the cornerstone of relationships. However, it's essential to acknowledge that our beliefs, though perceived as truth, may not always align with reality. This dissonance necessitates a shift in our thought patterns, prompting the testing of our beliefs in real-time scenarios. As times evolve, clinging to outdated beliefs might hinder us from exploring new opportunities. To adapt, we must embrace a fresh perspective and revamp our belief systems by altering our cognitive approach. In the words of Peter Drucker, traditional thinking becomes obsolete during turbulent times; hence, embracing a new mindset is imperative to unearth novel possibilities. It's crucial to discard ineffective beliefs and welcome innovative ways of thinking to navigate the complexities of the changing landscape. Hi Connections If you look at the Video below where in an young boy drives a toy tractor carrying 8 carriages with a pet of different kind in each of it. What do you recollect ? Some of you might say that these are the beautiful pets, a toy tractor and an young boy in journey to a farm. You might still feel it is a beautiful scene and all are lovely pets. But if you look and analyze beyond graphics, what do you infer? For me i can derive two distinct Psychological effects. The main one is the theory of Leadership. Here the boy is leader. He is using his influence to reinfore confidence in those pets to stay calm in their respective carriages. He just touchs them to reinforce warmth, trust and confidence in his leadership. The Leader is one who can exert influence on his subjects and ensure compliance. The other effect is The Law of Confirmity or 95% Law as envisaged by Peter Sage. It says if you hang out with 9 motivated individuals, positive reinforcement will ensure the 10th one to follow. This is strong hypothesis in Social psychology. Here these pets also get influenced by Law of Confirmity. Here if you see those Pets who are not in the carriages also gets in to Confirmity and started to walk along with the ones on carriages. See how this Enigmatic effect of Confirmity happens. This also happens in our own personal lives in many of Social Transactions. what is your views? Share with me. Dear Connections, It's been a while since I shared my thoughts with you all. Recently, I had the privilege of participating in a Students-Industry Interaction program held at a prestigious college in Bangalore. The event was attended by several HR Heads, Student Counseling Consultants, and other leaders. It was an amazing experience to have interactive discussions with youngsters who are graduating and ready to take on the corporate world. One of the most pertinent questions asked by many students to the panelists was "How to Crack HR Interview." I understood their concern as it's a crucial step towards their career. The panelists advised them to show confidence, be candid, be their authentic selves, and know their strengths to choose a career based on their strengths. The most important thing is to learn new skills that will give a competitive advantage. The skill gap matrix will always be like a mirage, and one should always be on the edge. Learning happens throughout life, and the day we stop learning, we will be left behind. Particularly for graduating students, it's not just about being bright academically but also presenting to the hiring managers the value they can bring to the organization, their learning appetite, and risk-taking potential. It was a great get-together of HR and student interaction.
