CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Optimization and Wildfire Conference October 1-4 2024, Luso, Portugal Deadline for the submission of abstracts (max 1500 characters) is May 31st, 2024. As keynote speakers, three distinguished personalities of the area: - David Martell (University of Toronto), - Yu Wei (Colorado State University), and - José Borges (University of Lisbon). The conference location is in a landmark Portuguese forest (Mata do Bussaco, a managed forest since the XVII century) in the center of Portugal, a region that was tragically devastated by wildfires in 2017. We believe the conference, with the support of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology through project O3F - An Optimization Framework to reduce Forest Fire (https://o3f.dps.uminho.pt), will result in a vision of the state-of-the-art and the identification of emergent topics in O&W, affirming the relevance and potential of Operational Research, Optimization and related areas in wildfire management.
