Why do Talent Acquisition professionals need other Talent Acquisition professionals to remind them how to do their jobs? This is the worst I have ever seen TA in the 15 + years I have been in this profession. So…for the newer Recruiters (1-3 years) right out of college or transitioning from culinary school please take note of what Alki Thompson said… “Take It Down”. Stop wasting job seekers time. Stop giving false hope. Stop clogging up your ATS. There is a lot of talent out here at the moment. You don’t need 6000 applications to make a decision for one position. You don’t need to make a LinkedIn post announcement for every job if you have an Inbox of 1000 applicants. Because what are we doing here? Asking for a friend.

A genuine hiring post will always: - specify the position clearly ✅ - mention the required experience-level ✅ - include a proper email ID where you can send applications ✅ It will never ask you to: - like the post ❌ - write "interested" in comments ❌ - send a DM ❌ (this is the biggest sham! Everybody knows that DM from non-connections is paid nowadays.) Please don't hurt your self-respect by interacting with vague posts. If the non-sincere hirer doesn't want to put any effort into hiring, why do you want to invest your time and effort into them?

Working as both a Physician and HealthCare Recruiter, I've come to realize: Every person is unique and has given special talents. Every resume tells a story. Even when a resume looks incredible It does not mean that person is the best fit. (I have had wonderful resumes where the candidate was a mess!) One thing is for certain: It is much easier to teach skills than a new mindset. So what should one focus on? Attitude over Aptitude - someone willing to learn always outshines a know it all - kindness and humility fosters a positive environment Initiative feeds Progress - Resourceful people are problem solvers and move forward Team Player Mindset - High performers are great, but not if they take all the credit alone (as a former D1 College Athlete, it is true there is no "I" in "team") Don't Forget: The ideal candidate for your team might not: -have attended the top schools -nail every interview question the way you hope -know how to position themselves best To Build a Great Culture: Stop hiring everyone for skills alone and start hiring for attitude!
