Our "Meet the Bees” workshop in June was a success! My Schaumburg-based coworkers had the chance to visit our hive and learn all about our honeybees. The interactive experience provided attendees the opportunity to hold frames of active worker bees, identify the queen bee, and observe different stages of hive growth. Although the bees in our hive are known for producing honey, they do so much more than just that. Employees talked about the important role bees play in maintaining biodiversity through their pollination efforts. The flourishing native plant species on our green roof spaces at Zurich North America Headquarters are a prime example of the effects of healthy pollination. Want to learn more about why bees are essential for the environment?
