Here's a summary of the key changes: • Reducing the administrative requirements associated with onboarding an apprentice and monitoring their progress. • Reducing the administrative requirements for learning support. • Reviewing the minimum requirement for active learning. • Introducing a new de-minimis in relation to subcontracting. • Widening the flexibilities in English and Maths requirements for apprentices who have learning difficulties and disabilities. • Updating the transfer policy. They have given levy-paying providers greater flexibility to use transfers and deliver training to receiving employers. 🚀Provisional government figures have revealed that apprenticeship starts in the latter months of 2023 totalled more than 130,000, a 7 per cent increase on statistics from the previous year. 📈Higher-level and advanced apprenticeships saw a 10% rise, while starts among under-19s grew by 11%. Starts for SEND learners nearly doubled - up to 20,050 - when compared with the same period last year. 🔥Among the most popular intermediate level apprenticeships were Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician with 4,700 starts, followed closely by Level 3 Early Years Educator with 4,430 starts. The Senior Leader standard and Chartered Manager degree apprenticeship also thrived at the higher level, with 2,410 and 1,360 starts respectively. #apprenticeships #skillsdevelopment #furthereducation https://lnkd.in/e9wy9UJP

**UCAS feedback required** A final reminder to everyone that the UCAS call for feedback on its proposed model for allocating Tariff points to apprenticeships at Level 3 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) and SCQF Level 6 (Scotland – Modern Apprenticeships) closes soon. UCAS Tariff points are allocated to help articulate entry criteria and provide a high-level overview of a qualification to support the management information needs of higher education providers. The proposed model and table can be found on page 8 and the link to the survey is on page 10. The survey will close on the 20th of June 2024. Responses will be analysed and reviewed, and a report provided as part of the outcome. If UCAS concludes that the proposed model is a viable solution based on feedback, it will be applied to UK Level 3 and SCQF Level 6 Apprenticeships from September 2024. #apprenticeships #modernappenticeships #UCAS #tariffpoints #engagement #haveyoursay #highereducation #post16pathways #comparability #progression #occupationalcompetence https://lnkd.in/e2hgGFGy

Providing strategic direction and leadership to the skills agenda across Hampshire. Supporting the design, development and delivery of an evidence-based Skills Strategy across the County.
Apprenticeship starts grow 7% in first quarter of 2023/24 Worth a read of this article from FE Week. Top headlines for me are: 1) Starts on advanced and higher-level apprenticeships both increased by 10 per cent respectively BUT we can't ignore another decline in starts on intermediate apprenticeships - arguably these offer a pipeline of talent for the advanced and higher. 2) 20,050 starts for SEND apprenticeships in quarter one, nearly double the number for the same period in 2020. 3) The level 3 installation and maintenance electrician apprenticeship was the most popular course, followed by the level 3 early years educator, level 3 business administrator and the level 7 tax professional apprenticeship. All of these link to key sectors for the LSIP Project for Surrey & Mid North Hampshire. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eVs6SpNR #NAW2024 #Skills #Apprenticeships

Some people wrongly assume that #apprenticeships are just for school leavers. That's not true. A BBC online report says, last year, 23% of new apprentices were under-19, while almost half were 25 or older. With apprenticeships available for all levels of learning, there's options available for everyone. For example, level 3 apprenticeships are A-level standard, while level 7 is equivalent to a Master's degree.
