0.005 seconds between Gold and Silver. 0.03 seconds between Gold and no medal. 0.12 seconds between Gold and last place. Noah Lyles becomes the fastest man on the planet winning the men’s 100m Final in one of the best and tightest races of all time. When athletes talk about marginal gains… The ‘1%ers’. This race epitomises it more than anything else. The obsession and dedication that it takes to gain just a fraction of a second may look like insanity from the outside, but it’s what is required. It’s not a one off decision, it’s a way of life. Doing the right thing, making the tough decision, over and over and over again, even if they don’t feel like it. It takes what it takes. Marginal gains applied consistently over time, is what separates the best from the rest.
Absolutely fascinating insights! This race is a perfect illustration of how the tiniest improvements can lead to monumental outcomes. It's a reminder that excellence often hinges on the aggregation of small, consistent efforts. Moreover, it highlights the importance of resilience and mental fortitude in high-performance environments. These athletes exemplify how a relentless focus on incremental progress can lead to extraordinary achievements. This principle isn't just applicable in sports but can be a game-changer in business and personal development as well. Kudos to Noah Lyles and all the competitors for showcasing the power of marginal gains!
I’m confused! Even when I look at this picture (I’ve done it 100 times) I still think the other guy has crossed the line first lol Jake Brown
It was unbelievable. And Noah’s mental strength off the charts. Controlling that adrenaline rush he had before the race started was incredible.
This still blows my mind. 1.2s splitting the entire pack! For reference it takes around 0.1s to blink! 🤯
These are the “one ten millionth of a percenters”. 0.00000001% of people ran in that race, after beating hundreds, or thousands, of others to get there.
Unbelievable this. & I must say, after the shaky start the coverage is stellar
Crazy how less than 1 second can make a huge difference... Jake Brown
All about staying true to your values and doing what's right! Love this Jake
Great post. It is never crowded on the extra mile.
