Helping Impact Founders build sustainable businesses

“Innovation” is a two-way street HCD practices are great (at times)… Define the problem > seek the solution But following them at all costs can be paralyzing Getting stuck in the “thinking” and not on to the “doing” Building a product and finding the market is also great (at times)… Define the solution > seek the problem But it can lead to aimless innovation Or worse, creating more things The world doesn’t need We’re meeting in the middle And not letting “perfect” Get in the way of progress. Which side are you on? PS I share tips and learnings as we build an Innovation Lab at Design Factory Melbourne. Hey Jake! You've hit the nail on the head here. There's a delicate balance between thought and action in innovation. Too much thinking can lead to paralysis by analysis, but too much doing without proper direction can lead to products that solve non-existent problems. It reminds me of a project I worked on where we spent months perfecting a feature that our users didn't even want! We learned the hard way that user feedback early and often is key. Keep sharing these insights!
