Why doing internship in a startup is a wiser choice? ➡️You'll gain hands on experience: Startups generally lead their interns on projects and tasks that have a direct impact on the company which actually seems meaningful. ➡️You tend to develop diverse skill sets: Interns in startups often wear multiple hats, where he/she can gain experience and develop their skillsets in various aspects of business, from production to marketing, which is not possible in specialized roles in established firms. ➡️You'll have close mentorship: In startups, you get chance to work closely with founders and other senior team members which could offer you valuable insights and guidance. (I guess this is the most important of all.) ➡️It provides comfort: Startups often operate in a less rigid and more flexible environment, helping you become more adaptable and comfortable in the work place. ➡️Creates entrepreneurial mindset: Working in a startup can help you develop an entrepreneurial mindset, understanding risk-taking, strategic thinking, and business acumen. Hope this helps! 🙌 Comment your thoughts below. #internship #startup #intern #entrepreneur #business #innovation #workculture #experience

Pursuing MBA (Finance) | Pune Institute of Business Management | Summer Intern - Paterson Securities Pvt. Ltd.
𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱: 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 This summer internship has been an incredible journey so far! In the past few weeks, I've delved deep into the world of startup valuation - a fascinating topic that's crucial for understanding a company's true worth. Here are some key takeaways I've gained: 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀: There's no one-size-fits-all approach to valuing a startup. I explored different methods like DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) and multiples-based valuation, each with its strengths and considerations. 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Learned about different types of valuations - pre-money, post-money - and how they impact fundraising rounds and investor dilution. It's all about understanding the company's stage and future potential. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀: Traditional valuation methods might not always capture the full picture for innovative startups. I explored how factors like user base, growth potential, and disruption play a role in valuing these new-age companies. It's exciting to see how valuation is evolving alongside the startup landscape! This internship has given me valuable insights into the financial side of startups. I'm eager to continue learning and applying this knowledge in the future! #summerinternship #startupvaluation #finance #learning

Big corporation or startup—which is the better choice for an internship? While large companies offer stability, startups provide hands-on experience that fosters entrepreneurial skills, adaptability, and insights into how to build an early-stage company. Plus, with more startups hiring interns for full-time roles, your internship could be the first step toward a successful career. After all, every global giant started as a startup, and today’s startups could be the next Uber or OpenAI. Dr. Samantha Dewalt, Managing Director, and Sarah Leedberg, Assistant Director of Innovation Programs at Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, highlight in University World News how startups give student interns unique opportunities for career growth. Ready to gain real-world career experience? Apply to intern at a startup this spring through Lehigh@NasdaqCenter’s Innovation Internship. The barrier of entry into venture capital and start-up firms is high for youths. Most of us are not born as investors and founders. We need exposure to these industries through work experience. However, it might seem daunting. As a high school student, it is difficult to find internships in these firms. Most of these firms have a diamond shaped organizational structure, hiring experienced staff mostly. Let’s challenge the status quo and open up more opportunities for youths! At SeenThroughVentures, we aim to increase accessibility into venture capital and start-up firms for aspiring investors and founders. We place an emphasis on bridging the skills gap and creating more job opportunities for the youths in venture capital and start-up firms.
