OK - specific chest pain AI decision support diversified severity. It reduced LOS for hospitalised patients (but not discharged patients) without impacting on outcomes. Nice 3 hospital analysis and good sample size. Take outs for me on clinical grade AI still - use 'narrow and deep', clinically specific AI applications; test with ethics committee; match training population; monitor results from Day 1. Exciting news! #AIinHealthcare #paperOftheWeek A recent study led by Lin et al. found that using an AI-powered electrocardiography (ECG) alert system could lower the risk of death for hospitalized patients. The study, which involved nearly 16,000 patients and 39 doctors, integrated an AI algorithm into hospitals' systems to analyze ECGs and identify patients at high risk of deterioration. By sending alerts to medical teams, the AI system helped reduce all-cause mortality by almost 1%. The findings suggest that incorporating AI into ECG analysis could save lives in emergency and hospital settings. #HealthTech #AI #ClinicalTrial #machinelearning #ECG

🚀ICYMI: JAHA — Journal of the American Heart Association published the performance of our FDA-cleared structural murmur detection AI powering the SENSORA™ Platform. Our machine learning algorithm reliably detected structural murmurs with a sensitivity of 97.9% and specificity of 90.6% for audible murmurs in adults. When applied at the front lines of care, these results illustrate that clinicians adopting SENSORA™ for structural murmur detection can facilitate earlier detection and more efficient evaluation of valvular heart disease. Chief Medical and Innovation Officer at Brainomix | Consultant Physician in Stroke and Internal Medicine at OUHFT (for recruitment please contact careers@brainomix.com)
Really pleased to have supported this evaluation of Brainomix e-Stroke software in Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust with Kiruba Nagaratnam and colleagues. Door-in-door-out times down be over 1 hour, driven by reductions in time to referral. Most importantly, independent outcomes for patients (mRS 0-2 at 3 months) increased from 16% to 48%! Another fantastic real-world validation of the opportunity for #AI to improve outcomes for #stroke patients in the #NHS. #spoileralert: more data to come from the evaluation across 5 NHS networks showing increased access to mechanical thrombectomy. https://lnkd.in/e9wPhp34
