This remarkable achievement places SLCS among the elite institutions in the state, demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence and student success. According to the report, School Lane Charter School is ranked #39 of 656 High Schools in Pennsylvania, placing it among the top 10% of schools in the Commonwealth. School Lane Charter School also ranked #3 in Bucks County, behind only New Hope-Solebury High School and Central Bucks East High School. The U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings are based on a comprehensive methodology that takes into account six key factors: college readiness, state assessment proficiency and performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rate. For the first time in MSU's 131-year history, the spring enrollment has surpassed 16,000 students. The university's total full-time equivalent (FTE) also hit a high of 14,216. This is a sign that students are taking more courses per semester, which not only puts them on track to graduate in four years but also saves them money on tuition. (Students do not pay tuition for credits beyond the first 12 they take per semester.) Also, MSU's number of first-time students who remained for a second semester of classes remained steady this spring at an impressive 90.2% and the overall student retention rate is at an impressive 92.8%. "That's remarkable persistence from our students," said Steve Swinford, VP for Student Success. "We are immensely proud of this spring enrollment because it shows how hard students are working to pursue higher education, stay enrolled and make progress toward their college degree from Montana State University," said MSU President Waded Cruzado. Jabs is one of the three largest colleges at MSU and our spring enrollment was 2,044 students.

In 2001, as an eager 18-year-old freshman at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, my aspirations were set on attending Saint Xavier University. Unfortunately, my academic journey faced a significant hurdle with an average ACT score of 14, coupled with the assessment from the admissions counselor at SXU that I lacked the requisite skill set and grades. This feedback not only inflicted internal distress but also sowed seeds of doubt. Undeterred, I attended a college fair in my hometown, meticulously exploring various institutions until I encountered Northwood University. Engaging with an admissions counselor, I conveyed my pursuit of higher education, acknowledging the deficit in scores and skills. The counselor, optimistic and supportive, assured me of possessing the necessary skills, emphasizing the importance of applying myself. Encouraged by his guidance, I submitted an application to the school. To my delight, I received acceptance. Although Northwood wasn't my initial dream school, I made a conscious decision to attend and maximize the opportunity. Setting a goal of a 3.0 GPA, I not only achieved this objective but surpassed it, concluding my first year with a 3.5 GPA. Upon the school year's conclusion, I reapplied at SXU and not only secured acceptance but also earned an academic scholarship. Reflecting on this transformative journey, I evolved from initial denial based on a modest ACT score to proving my ability to compete at the collegiate level. This endeavor wasn't merely a demonstration for others but a personal affirmation of my capabilities. The individual on the right has since grown into an author, educator, and consultant, extending support to schools and districts nationwide. Embracing setbacks, I emerged as a leading voice in education, dedicated to enhancing teachers' capacity and focusing on strategies to elevate student achievement. It is unequivocal that the person on the right owes their present stature to the resilience exhibited by the person on the left during that pivotal chapter.
