Majestic veteran oak, struck by lightening a few years back, but regenerating from the base. Still part of north Gloucestershire's and south Herefordshire's rich legacy of hedgerow oaks. Unfortunately there are very few to replace them, so it is a landscape in transition unless we work with landowners to help them conserve what we have (and not cut gate slots into trunks) and get new ones planted. Funding for new field trees is often reliant on approaches by busy landowners and adopting a broader land management approach. In combination with this, it is important to get ahead of the game at a landscape scale, talking to landowners and identifying opportunities and having field tree schemes ready for BNG and future grants. Easy to say, but capacity is not always available. #oak, #oaks, #trees, #severntreescapes, #morehedges, #gloucestershirewildlifetrust, #herefordshirewildifetrust, #fwagsw, #bng

Can proactive pavement preservation really impact your reserve funding? Lone Mountain’s story says yes. Last week I posted about how cheap surface treatments may actually cost you more money in the long run. Today I wanted to share a success story demonstrating how utilizing HA5 impacts your HOA's bottom line. That's where the Lone Mountain community in Cave Creek, Arizona comes in. They were facing a common issue—how to maintain their roads without draining their budget. By adopting HA5 High Density Mineral Bond as part of their proactive pavement preservation strategy, they were able toextend the life of their roads and increase their reserve funding from 70% to 100%. This isn’t just about keeping the roads in good condition—it’s about smart financial management. By making the right investments in pavement preservation today, Lone Mountain saved thousands of dollars in long-term repair costs, allowing them to build a stronger financial foundation for their community. Want to hear how they did it? Check out the full story in our video. https://lnkd.in/gMWAE7Sw #pavementpreservation #roads #HOAmanagement #asphalt #reservefunding #arizona

Do you know why they call it Twin Creeks? It’s because of the 1st and 2nd Creek Watersheds in Platte County, Missouri. These two creeks (twin creeks), which flow into the Platte River and eventually the Missouri River, have played a key role in shaping the development of the Northland—the rapidly growing northern part of the Kansas City metro. As the Northland grows, the 1st and 2nd Creek Watersheds are critical to managing stormwater, preventing flooding, and maintaining water quality. Urban development in these watersheds requires careful planning to balance growth with environmental preservation—ensuring the creeks remain healthy and sustainable for future generations. The Twin Creeks area is a master-planned, mixed-use development in Platte and Clay counties. It’s designed to offer modern suburban living while blending in with the natural landscape, including the creeks and surrounding open spaces. The development’s strategic planning helps ensure that the area’s growth supports the local community and the preservation of the natural waterways nearby. The development area emphasizes green spaces, parks, and recreational areas, providing residents access to nature and outdoor activities. It is part of the broader trend of suburban growth in Platte County and the Northland, which has seen significant residential and commercial expansion over the past decade. #NorthlandKC #SustainableDevelopment #TwinCreeks #UrbanGrowth #WaterManagement #PlatteCounty #EnvironmentalStewardship #MixedUseDevelopment *The map is courtesy of Platte County EDC Twin Creeks 2006 public plans.

The Vasaro HOA in Chandler, Arizona, was tired of traditional pavement preservation treatments that they would have to reapply for every 2-3 years. With 116 homes and older roads that were still in good condition, they needed a better solution. So when they received a proposal with HA5 High Density Mineral Bond, they were intrigued by: -Extending the maintenance cycles from 2-3 years to 7+ years -Reducing long-term maintenance costs -Superior durability against Arizona's intense climate "While HA5 has a larger impact on the current year's budget, looking out three years or six years or longer, you see significant savings from the extended lifetime," explains HOA Board President Bob O'Hara. "It's almost like having new asphalt." Hear why the Vasaro community chose HA5: https://lnkd.in/gqU3pAcc
