I got my arse kicked yesterday at the Pen tir Drop fell race in Wales.
"Follow the path up to the summit but come down whatever way you wish" the race organiser told everyone.
I couldn't see any other way down, so I thought it was a trick question.
The locals knew better, including the lady behind me in green in this photo, who I beat to the top but then she darted off towards what looked like a toilet stop on the way down but was in fact a short cut of half a km through what looked to me to be dense bushes and forest, but the locals knew as a shorter and faster route down.
The question is, how many people do you have in your team's at work, those who have more experience or learnt to work smarter not harder, but don't share their secrets with others?
I don't blame them for this, targets drive behaviours whether it's work or play, and having these secrets makes a difference, but imagine how well the team would perform if you could get those secrets out in the open - and how can you encourage those who know these things to share? Individual targets certainly won't do it🤔
