As we approach National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, ICBC reaffirms our commitment to advancing Reconciliation. We recognize our responsibility to better understand the histories, perspectives and needs of Indigenous Peoples, as customers, employees, and business partners.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan guides us in this journey, focusing on accountability, accessibility, partnerships, and strengthening Indigenous awareness and representation within ICBC. In 2024, we celebrated a significant milestone by hosting the first Welcome Ceremony for new Indigenous employees. This event was an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the contributions of recently hired Indigenous employees, enhance cultural awareness and strengthen our commitment to Reconciliation.
The Welcome Ceremony reflects the commitments in our Action Plan, by fostering inclusivity and representation at ICBC. As we build Indigenous representation within our workforce, we’re starting to lay the foundation for lasting, positive change.
