Rejection usually hurts right? A conversation I had yesterday highlighted not just the human aspect of recruitment, but also its impact on a company’s brand. After delivering tough news to an unsuccessful job candidate, his response was unexpectedly grateful. He was simply thankful to receive feedback! Something so scarce that he and his friends had been discussing the lack of it just the night before. This moment of gratitude, while heartening, also shines a light on a critical issue. Neglecting candidate communication can tarnish a company’s reputation. It’s not just about courtesy; it’s about brand integrity and the long term ability to attract talent. In a world where employer reviews are a click away, consistent and thoughtful communication can set a company apart, turning even rejections into positive experiences. At Pewsey Consulting, we know how important it is to ensure people feel heard and are left feeling valued. We’re here to help your brand shine by being genuine and upfront, especially when talking to candidates. Because when you care about building an awesome team, every single conversation can make the world of difference. #employerbrand #candidateexperience #RecruitmentEthics #buildingrelationships

💫 Considering the profound impact of company culture on our professional lives, it's crucial to conduct a thorough assessment before committing to any organization. A positive culture enhances productivity, engagement, and job satisfaction, while a toxic one can lead to misery. To gain insights into the company's culture, consider these steps: - Explore the company online, including the 'About Us' section and social media posts. - Check online reviews, such as those on Glassdoor. - Consult your professional network for any insights about the company. - Ask questions about company culture during the interview. It's your right to gather all necessary information before making a decision!

Over the past four months at The SR Group, I've finally had the chance to develop my own unique style as a recruiter, especially after getting my recruiter license. In previous roles, I often had to follow others behaviour due to limited resources, but here, I've had the freedom and support to truly grow into my own. When I first started to find my footing at The SR Group, I caught myself overthinking everything. I’ve always considered myself polite, but I worried it wasn’t enough. To compensate, I ended up making my messages overly formal and wordy—definitely not the best way to connect with people like you or me. The turning point came when someone advised me to just 'be myself.' Embracing that mindset was a game-changer, helping me connect with others more naturally and effectively. Here are a few tips to help you discover your own style more effectively— the last two really resonate with me. Meanwhile, I’ll keep refining mine! #ProfessionalGrowth #LearningAndGrowing #Recruitment The SR Group Taylor Root Keller West Carter Murray Frazer Jones Brewer Morris

In discussing the essential qualities for a key role I have on my desk at the moment, the client and I delved into what truly sets exceptional candidates apart. That's when I recalled a phrase my dad always used to say to me: "How you do anything is how you do everything." It struck a chord with the client instantly. They wholeheartedly agreed that the individual they seek isn't just about ticking boxes or meeting expectations; it's about embodying excellence in every task, big or small. Details truly make the big projects work. 🚀 #Excellence #Professionalism #DetailsMatter #Recruitment #TopTalent #LinkedInPost

The "Ideal Employee" seems like a myth at times. However, laying out the traits of the ideal employee can help guide the hiring process. Integrity, Intelligence, and Energy. But how do you identify these qualities in a candidate before you hire them? Here's some advice: Integrity: - Ask for references and check them - Dig deep in the interview - Research their online presence Intelligence: - Ask about their thought process - Conduct assessments for job-related skills - Determine if they fit the company’s culture Energy: - Observe their attitude - Ask about their professional goals - Review their contribution to previous organizations But, once hired, Ideal Employees expect: - Respect and support - Fair and transparent communication - Creative freedom Find the right candidate for the right role, with the right values that tie together with your company's core principles and enjoy a beautiful future together.

Bring exceptional candidate/client/partner experience with these 3 simple HUMAN rules: 1. Be right on time! 🕙 - No matter if you have an interview in the office, a phone call to introduce yourself, or just a 30-minute Teams meeting, be on time. Show them respect and appreciation for their time and effort to show up. Trust me, it`s priceless. 2. Be straight to the point ⏩ - There is nothing more valuable than being honest with the right amount of empathy and understanding. Show the person that you do feel them and that you are aiming towards a common goal. 3. Be specific in the feedback 🗒 - No one likes vague answers. Be specific and bring logical arguments. It has to make sense to the other party. Allow them to do the same and be prepared to receive feedback. It`s a two-way street. Respect, respect, respect - That is what you are showing with that attitude. And it`s going to be noticed. What are your golden rules that make you desirable to work with? #candidateexperience #clientexperience #lifelessonslearned

I’ve recently noticed work patterns within me that essentially do the job but once really looked upon show glimmers of stagnation. One of the challenges being a tenured recruiter is flagrant use of shortcuts over sustained time (like decades of me recruiting). Insert me seeing the red flag and making a choice to break the habit aka pattern (still useful but possibly mediocre) and infusing new ideas and ways of doing things. That’s one of the major reasons I constantly insert myself within populations of younger people. But we all know our external actions are never as mission-critical as our inner work.

There is a lot of discussion about the importance of finding a workplace that has a culture that suits you. But what if you have no idea what culture suits you? 🤔 Ask yourself these questions to help you define it: 1. What values matter most to me? Define your personal values, this will be your guideline in many of life's decisions. 2. How do I prefer to communicate and collaborate? Reflect on what you prefer - open dialogue, structured meetings, or informal discussions? 3. How do I handle challenges and change? Do you prefer stability and predictability, or are you energized by dynamic environments? 4. What kind of relationships do I value in the workplace? 5. How do I define work-life balance? Don't be afraid to ask about these aspects in your interview. This is the perfect time to learn as much as possible and make a decision. 😊 I hope you are or that you will soon find the right place for you. 🧡 #workculture #kulturapracy #workexperience #culture #interviewing #interviewtips

✊🏾 When Teia Rogers gets asked for a reference. 🐉 To Whom It May Concern: When requesting a reference, please stop focusing on a candidate's strengths and weaknesses. Here's why: 🤔 My opinion is subjective and influenced by context and my own biases and assumptions. 🌱Focusing on a binary set of attributes doesn't speak to the potential for growth and innovation. 🌈 Understanding how a candidate might enrich your organisational culture offers a richer perspective. 📣 Anna Ludeman, keen to get your insights on this. What questions should people be asking in reference checks? Note: No candidates were harmed in the making of this post. The reference went into extensive detail about the contributions made to the growth of our team, how they are values-led and that it was an absolute privilege to collaborate with them. 🚀 #TalentAcquisition #HRInnovation #ContextMatters
