The Winter ’25 Edition has arrived. And it’s boring. Every six months, we publish a rundown of everything we’ve built in Editions. Usually, this includes big, flashy product announcements. Not this time. This Edition isn’t about being flashy. It's about making sure everything on Shopify just works. Features that didn’t work together are integrated. Customers can interact with checkout over one second sooner with app blocks using UI extensions loading asynchronously. - A faster cart makes the buying experience smoother for customers. Carts load up to 50% faster now, making storefront experiences zippy. - That's not all, accelerated checkout buttons load up to 58% faster and support functions and bundles from the PDP and Cart pages. My favourite Edition yet. 150+ updates. Nothing new. Everything improved. Some of the "boring" Shopify POS updates I'm most excited about:  1. Offline payments: Accept in-person card payments even if your network is down. Payment information is saved and processed when your POS is back online. 2. Retail customer segments: Location-based filters in customer segments allow for creating personalized marketing campaigns to reach nearby customers. 3. Unverified returns: Retail staff can now process returns without a receipt or order number and refund to a gift card. Hot tip: Click on "Not boring" on the landing page to add a little bit of spice to your day.

Excited to see Shopify's boring edition come out! Why do we love it? 1 - With each Editions release, there are great announcements that everyone talks about and looks forward to using. But, these enhancements aren't released for months later. This Boring Edition focused on getting sh*t done and launched - now. We love that! 2 - We love new launches! The fruition of hundreds of items on product roadmaps means more innovation and more growth for brands. 2 - Have you looked at Boring TV? We have to hand it to the design & dev team at Shopify - this is really slick. All the way done to the UI smash of the page when you turn on the TV.
