Kyanna Sanchez, pursuing a degree in Nursing, was inspired by her mother, who is a nurse, and wanted to follow in her footsteps. "Like her, I aspire to be the person who helps make a difference in someone’s life. The person who helps a mother return home to her children, offers a comforting hand to a young child in pain, or acts like a family member to the patient who has no one’s support," she said. Kyanna is this week's UTRGV Profiles in Excellence student. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g-e99Zhi #utrgvpie #utrgvprofilesinexcellence #utrgvnursing

I cannot think of a better 30 minutes to learn about XR in nursing education than Dr. Cait Yeager on #ExploreXR. She is incredibly succinct and entertaining as she summarizes use of XR at Ursuline College. We get asked many questions by customers and prospects alike: ❓How do we use XR in our curriculum? ❓What is the value relative to traditional, analog methods? ❓How do students react? ❓What is the value of MR vs VR? ❓Does XR scale? ❓Is XR economically advantageous? Dr. Yeager answers all of these and more! She and her colleagues have done an incredible job of implementing XR that we can all learn from. Highly suggest you give it a listen.
In this episode of ExploreXR, David King Lassman is joined by Dr. Cait Yeager, who serves as the Director of the Health Resource and Simulation Center at the Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions at Ursuline College. She has over 18 years of experience as a nurse with a specialty in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing and has over 10 years of experience as a nurse educator. https://lnkd.in/gUj_Hw8F

Documentation Tip for Hospice Nurses: below are some tips to consider when documenting to support eligibility on your pts with Parkinson’s: 1. Make the first word of the sentence negative instead of positive (disoriented x1 instead of oriented x3) 2. Focus on what they cannot do instead of what they can do (unable to ambulate w/o a walker) 3. Detail what their movement looks like (shuffling, slow, unsteady, etc) 4. Detail how their ADLs are affected (unable to hold spoon r/t tremors. Requires adaptive devices to feed self) #forhospicenurses #hospice #hospicenurse #tipsforhospicenurses #documentation #charting #chartingsucks #parkinsonsawareness #parkinsons #parkinsonsdiesease #parkinson

"Florence Nightingale once said, 'So never lose an opportunity of urging a practical beginning, however small, for it is wonderful how often in such matters the mustard seed germinates and roots itself.' 🌱 Every small step in nursing can lead to significant growth and impact.
