James Vos Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth’s Post

It's good to be home! And as always we hit the ground running with the Circular Design Challenge, facilitated by The Craft + Design Institute (CDI) and the Netherlands Consul General. Today, we're turning challenges into opportunities for a better future. The Circular Economy tackles key Sustainable Development Goals: 1. Eradicate Poverty 2. Decent Work and Economic Growth 3. Support Industries and Innovation 4. Responsible Consumption and Production A global circular economy could create millions of jobs by 2030. GreenCape’s 2022 report shows it could add up to R5 billion to Cape Town annually. I challenge you to help create circular economy models that fit South Africa, create jobs, and build a sustainable economy. #CircularEconomy #ThisIsCapeTown #InvestCapeTown #CreativeIndustries #TheCraftandDesignInstitute
