The multimodal artificial intelligence is not just about recognizing and analyzing different types of data in isolation, but about merging these modalities to obtain a deeper and contextualized understanding. In any discussion about current AI technologies, specially the "Gemini" era of conjunctions between text, audio, image and video, we can quickly think not in what we can do, but what we can do next, the essence of Science. Now, #googlegemini introduces what some decades ago was only a suggestion... A page from a sci-fi book. The human ability to have progress became faster as soon as they have the power to think less. For example, the common user, even technologists, did not have time to take all the advantages of GPT-4, and we have already had a dramatic leap forward with Gemini. Fantastic! In this new feature, the multimodal AI could be useful to some well known scenarios in AI world, which is the delineation of fast strategies over situations that involves very complex decisions in medical, self-driving, and many other fields. #gemini #artificialintelliegence #llm #computervision

And the chase for the dominant #AI begins! #Gemini is really an interesting concept with the multimodality approach (pity the video was"edited" to enhance the perception of this product but I guess that is marketing for you). The applications in systematic reviews will be interesting. But before some feel threatened by the prowess of Gemini, the ability to evaluate doctored results and high risk of bias appears still not in the AI realm of capabilities (yet). tho the reasoning shown appears more accurate and remarkable than ChatGPTs (disclaimer: not read the papers). Maybe I am swayed because following the previous lesson Google learnt abt the flaws in some of the AI-human interaction when it comes to AI logic (the burning building incident), they have now tried to be more deliberate in incorporating safeguards (e.g. annotation of source to allow fact check). Will be interesting times to live in. It also beckons an age where being superficial may not be enough. https://lnkd.in/g-bQA5kp
