Football Scientist | Consultant | Mentor | Helping football physical performance practitioners enhance their career through mentoring

Do you want to be a football fitness coach for the next 40 years of your working life? Do you want to be 60 years old, still putting cones out and working with the players directly on a day-to-day basis? For some, this is still the dream. For others, the role as a day to day football fitness coach has a shelf life of 10-20 years before they want something more or different. So where can you progress? Maybe you become a head of performance in a more managerial position, overseeing the programme without getting too involved in the day-to-day activities. Maybe you go into consultancy, working with different teams and people to enhance performance. It's important when planning your career, you look beyond the short and medium term, start thinking long term of how you want your pathway to look (and potential exit strategy). ~~~ If you found this helpful, share the post to your network and follow me James Malone for daily content at 13:00 GMT.

I find your comment a bit disrespectful ... "still putting out cones"? ... yep ... thats all we do ... arrange a landing strip for a distressed plane. Get your facts right and try a different approach next time ... as for working with tje players day to day and face to face rather tha behind a desk just coz it pays more ... a definite YES !!!
