Empowering Emergency Managers with Innovative Technology 🚨 | Girl Dad x2 👨🏻 | LinkedIn Top Voice 📣 | Certified Emergency Manager 🌀 | Product @ Everbridge 💻
The third and final college that I attended bouncing across three different states (thanks to baseball injuries) was when my passion for Emergency Management started. I decided to major in Homeland Security with a focus in Emergency Management while I continued to pursue playing baseball. When that first class started I was hooked. I knew baseball was a long shot so at least I was able to find a second passion (a more realistic passion 😃). But Emergency Management isn't always about writing plans, being activated into an EOC, deployments, etc. There are other routes that you can take that still include Emergency Management. While I worked in both the public and private sector for 8 + years I discovered an area that I felt even more passionate about that I wanted to pursue. Technology. I was fascinated by the technology we use in Emergency Management. To communicate, to manage incidents, create and collaborate on plans, etc. I started a mission to be involved in technology that matters to Emergency Managers to get the job done. Over the past 4 + years I've been able to do just that. The past year and a half I was able to get more involved in product and pursue my passion. Why am I sharing this information? Because I know that it's easy to get stuck in your career and want to pursue something more or something different. If any of this sounds interesting to you check out this position at Everbridge.
