Do you recruit for skills or job fit? According to TalentLyft, 65% of business owners consider cultural fit to be an important factor when hiring. And it should be, particularly when the cost of replacing employees (time, money, training etc) is significant. For me, I’ve always hired based on attitude rather than aptitude. I look for someone who shares my values, is an open communicator and is eager to learn and grow. Finding the right person isn’t always easy, but if you start focusing on team fit, rather than technical skills, you’ll be surprised with the outcome…
