Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending InsTech ’s event on “The new data-first market for brokers and carriers – from digital placement to Smart Follow”. The discussions on Smart Follow and the digitalisation of the placement process being the future of the industry were particularly enlightening. One of the three surveys shared during the event revealed that the lack of market standardisation and outdated operational procedures are seen as major barriers to digitalisation. While it’s true that improvement is needed in current operating procedures to fit the digital operational model, I firmly believe there’s a crucial distinction between improvement led by digitalisation and digitalisation led by improvement. One can cause chaos, while the other may result in systems that fail to deliver value. True success comes when both digitalisation and improvement initiatives work harmoniously, creating efficient and futuristic solutions that transform company operations and deliver a brand-new experience to its users. #InsTech #InsurTech #SmartFollow #Innovation #UnderwritingTechnology
