The Inner Critic vs. Your True Self: Who Are We Listening To? Self-Esteem vs Self-Compassion We all have that voice inside. You know the one—it points out every flaw, questions every decision, and reminds us of every time we fell short. But here’s a secret: That voice isn’t you. It’s just a habit, a pattern, a story you’ve been telling yourself for too long. 📖 ✨ What if, instead of listening to that critic, you tuned into your true self—the one that knows your strengths, your resilience, and the power of your potential? Let your light shine 🕯️ It’s not easy to silence the critic. But every time you choose to listen to your true self, you’re one step closer to the life you deserve to live. Today, I challenge you: 📌 Notice that critical voice. 📌 Pause, take a deep breath, and choose or think of a kinder thought. 📌 Remind yourself of something you’ve achieved or conquered—big or small. There is an unspoken norm on how to present yourself in business and through media—this expectation creates an image, a crust, a shallow veneer of you. My motivation in every endeavour is to reach out into the void and connect with the lonely child people lock within. That unseen, unheard aspect of them they hide from the world, beneath the veneer. This is how we collaborate on media of depth. Through kindness, compassion and an gentle nurture of that forgotten child, I encourage them to value what they yearn to share with the world. The media, scrolled past on a timeline, or viewed casually for a minute that represents hours of illustrating in reality. Just as everything you say and do with authenticity represents a lifetime of gut-wrenching fight, of tears and joy and human experience. Yet people scroll past it; ignore the real you who remains unseen and unheard. Yet, when you gaze below the surface—at depth—of others and yourself, how does the message change? From what you others tell you to say and do, to who you truly are and what you've been waiting a lifetime to say and do?

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆? - Some think we're kind and caring. - Others might see us as distant or aloof. - Some hear us talking all the time, while others think we're quiet. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿: how people see us is often shaped by their own experiences and biases. It's like we're these reflections bouncing off their own worlds—𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱, 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿, all those 𝗲𝗴𝗼-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 things. Beyond all these perceptions, though, is the real us. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. This true self isn't separate from anyone else because, deep down, we're all connected, like leaves on the 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲. Funny thing is, you can't even find the same person twice, not even within 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. So, listen to your own voice—the one that knows your true self best. Because ultimately, the most important version of you is the one you shape 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. Embrace who you are and let your true self shine. It’s easy to overcomplicate finding your passion and purpose. Listen, if you're struggling to figure it out... Let go of this: - Listening to outside voices telling you what you "should" do - Letting fear and self-doubt drown out your wisdom - Chasing shiny opportunities that don't truly match - Overthinking everything into paralysis Instead, try this: 1. Get radically honest about what lights up your soul 2. Listen to the call of your spirit & that quiet voice. 3. Take imperfect steps towards what feels right. 4. Trust you're being divinely guided. Focus on this and notice what you find… When you allow yourself to let go of the need to control things, your path opens up and becomes clear.

The way people view you. Sometimes I think about the different characters I play in everybody’s story. I’m a terrible person in some people's narratives and a Godsend in others. And none of it has anything to do with the person I truly am. The lens that others view you through is coloured by their upbringing, beliefs, and individual experiences. Some people see your bright personality as endearing and others see it as annoying. Some people think you’re weak and emotional and others feel safe to be themselves around you. Some people think you’re rude and selfish and others respect the way you stand up for yourself. Some people admire the way you take pride in the way you look and others think you’re conceited. And none of it has to do with who you truly are as a person. What you have to understand is that you have no authority over how people view you so never try to control the way others see you because the only thing that truly matters when the dust settles down at the end of the day is what you genuinely see in yourself. “You’ll stop worrying what people think about you when you realize how seldom they do.” – David Foster Wallace This quote serves as a reminder of the liberating truth: **1. Freedom from Judgment:** Realizing that people are preoccupied with their own lives frees you from the burden of constantly worrying about others' opinions. **2. Authenticity:** Embrace authenticity and live according to your values and beliefs without constantly seeking approval from others. **3. Confidence:** Understanding that most people are focused on themselves allows you to confidently pursue your goals and passions without fear of judgment. **4. Self-Acceptance:** Accept yourself for who you are, flaws and all. You don’t need validation from others to recognize your worth. **5. Empathy:** Recognize that others are also grappling with their own insecurities and worries. Extend empathy and understanding rather than dwelling on their opinions of you. Ultimately, your worth isn’t determined by others' perceptions. Focus on being true to yourself and living a fulfilling life on your own terms.
