If you are hiring part time seasonal help, wouldn't it make sense to still get some "suitable" talent, rather than just an eligible "body"? ...the power of retention and conversion is better than replacement and retraining...just saying. Our job suitability reports with The Harrison assessments completely addresses this & more. I'd love your feedback and thoughts on whether retention is important in this case ~ Fill That Seat. 😉 #hrsupport #hrstrategy #hrsuccess #seasonalhiring #talentacquisition #talentmanagement #talentretention #talentsolutions #fillthatseat

Executive Resume & LinkedIn Writer ➡️ I help job seekers cut through all the confusion with The 5 Strategies that land interviews.
#ThursdayThoughts On Thursdays I talk about one thing I'd change about the hiring process if I had a magic wand. Today's Thought- Companies need to stop requiring work outside candidates’ portfolios. Why I'd change this: 1. Unfair Expectations: Requiring work outside candidates' portfolios can place an unfair burden on job seekers, especially if the tasks are time-consuming or complex. 2. Unpaid Labor Concerns: Asking candidates to complete tasks outside their portfolios without compensation raises ethical concerns related to unpaid labor. 3. Lack of Context: Work completed outside the context of the actual job may not accurately reflect a candidate's potential on-the-job performance. 3. Inhibits Diversity and Inclusion: Requiring extensive work outside portfolios can be a barrier to diverse candidates who may face additional challenges in meeting such demands. 4. Time-Consuming for Hiring Team: Evaluating extensive additional work from each candidate can be time-consuming for the hiring team. This approach may delay the hiring process, leading to frustration among both candidates and recruiters. #Jobseekers, Have you been asked to do a "project" as part of the hiring process? How did you feel about the experience? Let us know in the comments.

Saw a similar post recently and decided it was too important not to repeat. I am connected to many recruiters on this site and love seeing the success stories. HOWEVER. I see way too many of these: - I just hired someone over 50! - I just hired someone who just had a baby! - I just hired someone who is blind! And too many of these: - I was scared to tell my boss I was pregnant but they were SO KIND when I finally did! - I just returned from 2-weeks off post-surgery and work was so accommodating with my recovery! - I just worked for 28 hours straight and clocking in again at 5am! 💪 Is the bar really set so low that we have to tout doing the legally-right thing? Instead of these shining stories of nondiscrimination and normalizing of toxic environments, how about telling me how that person feels on Sunday night as they stare down a new work week here in 6 months? How about telling me how that person feels when they go to their leader and say "I have too much on my plate. Can I trust you to help me?" Tell me about a successful culture. Tell me about an environment where people feel they belong. Because, really, we can do better than this. #culture #recruiters #HR #hiring #opentowork #leadership #belonging #organizationaldevelopment

Professional Connector | Executive Recruiter working with In-House Counsel, Paralegals, & Compliance Professionals | Wife to the Best Hubby | Chief Fun Officer | We Find the Lions®
The numbers have to make sense or you won't get candidates across the finish line. You can have an amazing team culture. You can set clear expectations around work/life balance. You can create upward movement and an appealing career trajectory. You can offer a good amount of PTO. You can choose the correct title for the role. You can move through the interview process with decisiveness and clarity. But if you can't offer truly competitive compensation...your search will end in disappointment. Money isn't everything, but it has to make sense. #legalrecruiting #generalcounsel #inhousecounsel

Returning to work after being a stay-at-home mom for two years can indeed be a challenging transition. It's understandable that you may feel exhausted and disappointed, especially if you perceive a lack of consideration for human emotions and personal situations from companies. Balancing work and personal life is a common struggle, and it's essential for employers to be mindful of the challenges individuals may face. I am Human Resource Recruiter and Generalist with over 7 years of success in the Human Resource field. Leverages wide-ranging sourcing methods, interviewing techniques and offers negotiations to meet diverse client needs. Interested in 100% HR roles at the moment due to toddlers at home and residing in NY. #hiring #remotejobs #receuitment
