Safety management is best not done in a vacuum. It requires input from all parts of the organization. Perhaps where this is the most accurate is when creating documents like safe work procedures and hazard assessments. It's obvious that these are only effective if they take into consideration the views and lived experiences of those they're meant to protect. As safety professionals, our job is not to do everything. Instead, we need to broker relationships between key parties to make sure safety work is being done/informed by the most appropriate individuals. We still might write the policies and procedures. But, we need to know where our knowledge is strong and where it needs to be supplemented by subject matter experts. #safety #occupationalhealthandsafety
