We were pleased to participate in Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Leaders of Tomorrow Program (WeTOP) in Hong Kong. Our Asia CEO, Andrew Hendry, addressed a less discussed aspect of investing, delving into the psychology of financial decisions to an audience of young investors. The session was designed to equip those new to investing with the knowledge to make prudent choices by recognising their cognitive biases. The event transcended mere finance; it served as a platform for education, motivation, and networking with key industry figures. It was fantastic collaborating with Christina Au-Yeung again and congratulations to the team at Morgan Stanley for organising and hosting a great event. We are proud to play a role in nurturing the next generation of investors. #Events #BrighterFutureTogether #Asia Alex Ng Geraldine Walsh Keith Chan Stephanie Joeson

Be "Long Term Greedy". Michael B Kim, dubbed the Godfather of Asian Private Equity, related a lesson he learned from his first day at Goldman Sachs. One of the partners went on stage and told the newbies to be "long term greedy". According to Kim, it is one of the most profound things he has ever heard. Kim understood that the partner was saying NOT to go for the biggest buck... short term. He wanted them to be profitable over the long term... by building relationships with clients. And the way to build long term relationships is to TREAT the clients RIGHT. If you notice, the partner did not say making money is NOT important. He said we should make money and we should make money for a long time BY... doing things the right way FOR the customers/ clients. #axlplanner #business #relationships #wisdom #lessonsfromreallife

The ability to work seamlessly across markets and asset classes paid off for Morgan Stanley in a challenging year. This time last year, Euromoney’s discussions with shortlisted candidates for this award were peppered with a cautious optimism that 2023 would turn out to be a better year for business than 2022. That turned out to be nearly a year premature: from a mid-2024 vantage point it can be difficult to recall just how tricky 2023 was. But Morgan Stanley correctly anticipated that the first wave of activity would come from corporates, followed by financial sponsors. “The Femsa/Heineken deal was a good example of the integrated firm at work” - Mo Assomull, Global Head of Capital Markets, Morgan Stanley Read more about this year’s ‘World's Best Bank for Financing’ winners - http://spr.ly/6043YFzuR #EuromoneyAfE

Managing Director @ Pitch Hackerz | Mentor @ Techstars Oakland & NYC | Helped Founders & Fund Managers Raise $750M+
I spoke yesterday at Morgan Stanley's Family Office Summit in front of 100+ institutional investors. My focus? Teaching Family Offices how to better source emerging managers with the best potential for outsized returns. It’s a challenging task because, quite frankly, many emerging managers look & sound the same at the surface level. Everyone claims to have a differentiated thesis, a platform model, and a network of amazing deal flow. That just doesn't cut it anymore. And while those aspects are needed, they don't necessarily drive enough conviction to get an investor over the line. The challenge is that these managers need to go beyond surface-level claims. Often, there is more substance, but they’re not explaining it in a way that digs into that next level. That's where I come in, helping emerging managers identify what I call "true differentiators that lead to high ROI." I’ve created a list of questions I ask every emerging manager before working with them to determine just how truly differentiated they are. If you’re an LP and want me to send you this list, DM me! Happy to help. Thanks Kevin Entwistle, CFA, CFP®, CEPA®, CRPC® for this incredible event!
