Why does it matter where you're going? What's the point of defining a destination? You don't get in the car for a vacation and look at your family and say "welp, where are we headed, kids?" You don't start driving down the street randomly for 6 hours and then pull over and exclaim "this is where we'll spend our vacation!" So why do you do it with your life? With your business? With your family? Why are you SO PARTICULAR about planning a vacation, and simply a mess about everything else? For a trip you plan: When you'll leave How you'll get there What you'll take What you'll do Who you'll see What you won't do How much you'll spend How long you'll be gone Who will take care of things at home... And for the rest of life you're like "meh, it'll all work out" I dare you to have that "meh, it'll all work out" plan for your next vacation. See how it works out. A vision gives you a sense of direction. It gives you a plan. It offers a standard and expectations. It's not a crystal ball, but it's at least a design you can try to follow. What's amazing about this is that you ALREADY know how to do it. It's not really a skill you have to learn. You just have to prioritize the time to do it.... LIKE YOU DO FOR YOUR VACATIONS. Start where you are, build as best you can, tweak as you go. #executivecoaching #anticomfort #workingparents
Gotta know where you’re going!
Jared J. Greer great post and message
Honestly, some lf my best vacations were the least planned... but for life, I fully agree. It's one thing to chill and roll with whatever for a few days. It's not so great when it's all of life.
Got to have vision for your life and your family! We build out vision statements corporately, so why don’t we build them out for our families. So good brother!
So right Jared. If you don’t have a plan, you don’t have a chance.
