Your children may have different passions than you do. That's okay. It is a mark of a good parent when the next generation is equipped to pursue its own passions. As our children discover new interests, it may become difficult to find common ground together. This is why a shared family cause can be so important in a thriving family. A family cause is a movement, nonprofit, or problem that each member of your family is passionate about. This cause allows your family to have a common line of communication and a way to engage with each other. It is a part of your family's generosity journey that can be passed on for generations to come. Here are three simple steps to help your family engage in a cause: 1. Engage in Generational Giving. Learn what your children are passionate about. Younger generations are more interested in advocacy than previous generations. 2. Connect to a Nonprofit. Younger generations are often more focused on supporting specific issues. Help connect them to a nonprofit you both can support that fits their passion. 3. Serve Your Community Together. Volunteer for new causes together as a family to find common interests. #passion #purpose #motivation
