Often people say, "I will figure it out then." Why Lying on Your CV as a Veterinarian is a Bad Idea Lying on your CV, especially in a profession as critical as veterinary medicine, can have severe consequences. Here's why: Professional and Ethical Implications: ●Breach of Trust: Veterinary medicine is built on trust between the veterinarian, the pet owner, and the animal. Lying on your CV undermines this trust. ●Malpractice Risk: If you claim expertise in areas you're not qualified for, you risk making mistakes that could harm animals. ●Legal Consequences: In some cases, lying on a CV can be considered fraud and could lead to legal repercussions. Career-Limiting Consequences: ●Damage to Reputation: If your dishonesty is discovered, it can ruin your professional reputation, making it difficult to find employment in the future. ●Difficulty in Advancement: Promotions and career growth often rely on trust and credibility. Lying can hinder your progress. ●Loss of Opportunities: Employers value honesty and integrity. Fabricating your qualifications can close doors to potentially rewarding career paths. Personal Consequences: ●Stress and Anxiety: The fear of being caught can cause significant stress and anxiety. ●Loss of Self-Respect: Lying can erode your own sense of self-worth and integrity. It's essential to be honest and transparent on your CV. Highlight your actual skills and experiences, and focus on showcasing your potential rather than exaggerating your qualifications. Building a successful veterinary career is based on competence, integrity, and a genuine passion for animal care. Leadership Trainer @ Veterinary Practice Partners | Mental Health Advocate | VetMed Hype Man | Fueled by Passion | Driven by Purpose | Retired Marine | Combat Veteran | “Everything I know, I learned from Dogs”
Looking through photos I have taken over the last few months, something struck me... Most of these photos were taken at different veterinary hospitals in different locations... Different jobs, job titles, roles, responsibilities, certifications, education, etc... Different genders, sexual orientations, religions, political parties, generations, etc... But the commonality between all these photos is that despite our differences, the incredible humans in #veterinarymedicine unite around their passion for animals, the humans that care for them, and the people on their teams. When you look at these photos...Veterinary Medicine is NEVER about one individual. It isn't a DVM, Practice Manager, Veterinary Technician, Vet Assistant, Customer Service Rep, Kennel assistant, or any other position in a hospital. Veterinary Medicine is a COMMUNITY. Veterinary Medicine is a TEAM. No matter what position you "play" on the field, we all have to do our job so that the entire team can be successful... I am proud to be a part of the Veterinary Practice Partners team and serve our incredible hospital teams in any way that I can... But I am also proud to be part of the #VetMed industry, and to do everything I can to make our ENTIRE community, better. "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." #VeterinaryPracticePartners #VPP #togetherweRISE #bebetter
