Is it easy to get your denied claim overturned? No, almost never. Even when using Tugboat, a denied claim is still a frustrating experience regardless, especially when it appears to have been wrongfully denied. In this episode, we talk about how much of this seems to be based on the simple fact that people don't want to admit they were wrong. That's not something that is easy for any of us to do. It's embarrassing and in the case of an adjuster could have ramifications for their job. So we typically advise users not to be accusatory, to offer a "way out" as it were - where it could be argued that some facts were unknown previously, and now that they are highlighted it changes the circumstances. Whatever you have to do to ease that burden of the individual adjuster taking responsibility. This conversation was a fun one. It was just after 9 am and I was filling the car with petrol when I had this insatiable urge. The race was starting in 30 minutes—would I make the 9:30 am start? There I was, standing at the petrol pump, minding my own business on a typical cold Aberdeen morning, when it hit me: the urge to run. And not just any run—the Hazlehead parkrun. With the clock ticking and only 30 minutes to go before the start, I had a decision to make. Luckily, I was already in my old trainers, and by some stroke of fortune, I had my trusty cap and T-shirt in the boot. Jeans or not, I figured I’d give it a go! This would be my 20th parkrun since I began running on my 72nd birthday, and, as usual, I hadn’t exactly planned for it. Spontaneity and ADHD drive me . Arriving just in time for the announcements, I heard the usual fanfare for people reaching milestone runs—50th, 100th—and there I was, feeling quietly proud for just making it to the start line on a whim. The first ten minutes were, predictably, uphill. My legs immediately began protesting, reminding me of how warm and lovely the car had been. But, once the course leveled out, I settled into a pace that I’d generously call “determined.” Running has become my way of clearing my head, especially during stressful times—like when you’re launching a startup . The challenge of a tough run reminds me that I can handle whatever life throws my way. As I approached the final 200 meters, puffing like a steam engine past its prime, I crossed the finish line, still short of that elusive sub-30-minute time. I beat a 9-year-old but the lady with the pram was already on her way home. #parkrun #aberdeen #wellness #adhd #startup
