Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to acknowledge progress in HIV prevention and care among Black/African American people, while recognizing the work still needed. To #StopHIVTogether, we must address HIV stigma and barriers. Because that's what is still killing us--not HIV or AIDS but the stigma, barriers and discrimination faced in our own communities. #hiv #aids #nbhaad #black #blackqueer #blacklgbt #blacklgbtq #blackgay #blacktrans #blacktranslivesmatter

September 27 is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to recognize the disproportionate impact of HIV among gay men, bisexual men, and other men who have sex with men, and to raise awareness about the importance of expanding access to HIV testing, prevention, screening, and care services. As we observe National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, let us commit to raising awareness and advocating for equitable access to HIV services. By fostering a supportive environment, healthcare providers can contribute to reducing HIV stigma and improving health outcomes within these communities. Together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against HIV/AIDS and ensure that every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation or identity, receives care. #nationalgaymenshivaidsawarenessday #healthcare #takecareofyourself #hiv #aids #awareness #gaymen #community #worldproblems #negativeimpact #psychology #mentalhealth #personaltrainer #fitness #gay #lgbtq

Monday morning reminder: The work to end the HIV epidemic in the U.S. requires grounding ourselves in intersectionality and remembering that HIV Justice is LGBTQ+ Justice is Racial Justice is Criminal Justice! We’ve long known that stigma, discrimination, and systemic inequalities like racism and transphobia compound the risk of HIV transmission and hinder access to vital testing and treatment. Stigma is a key driver of the HIV epidemic because it discourages people from getting tested or receiving treatment. And in more than 30 U.S. states, people are still being criminalized or imprisoned due to their HIV status. HIV criminalization laws are being used to punish people living with HIV with criminal prosecution, increasing charges or punishments just because the person lives with HIV. Punishment is not the answer—health care is. We’re here—and we’ll continue fighting for the rights and dignity of everyone living with HIV. It's #NationalHIVtestingweek I think there's a lot of bias that HIV still mostly impacts the #lgbtq community. But reports say otherwise... 📌 The number of new HIV diagnoses in heterosexual people are higher than those in gay and bisexual men for the first time in ten years 📌 Testing has been going up but went down during covid-19 📌 Half of all HIV testing in 2022 was done with at home kits 📌 Women have low testing numbers Free at home tests that take 15 minutes: https://freetesting.hiv/ https://lnkd.in/eKiGkQx2

🌍✨ National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day ✨🌍 Today, we recognize National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of HIV on Latinx communities. Since 2003, this day has shone a light on the cultural, societal, and healthcare challenges faced by Latinx individuals, who are disproportionately affected by HIV. Latinx people account for 27% of new HIV diagnoses, often facing discrimination, language barriers, and lack of access to culturally competent healthcare. For LGBTQ+ youth within Latinx communities, the stigma can be even more severe—both within their own culture and society at large—leading to isolation, fear of rejection, and limited support. This creates additional barriers to accessing vital health services and emotional care. At Radiant Health Centers, we’re dedicated to offering compassionate, affirming care for all, regardless of identity, culture, or background. We believe in providing a safe space where everyone can receive the respect, healthcare, and support they need to live healthy, empowered lives. Let’s advocate for inclusion, acceptance, and access to care for all. #LatinxHIVAIDSAwarenessDay #EndHIVStigma #LGBTQSupport #RadiantHealthCenters #CareForAll #HealthEquity #HIVAwareness #CompassionAndCare

#HIVIsNotACrime! End HIV Criminalization laws! These laws undermine public health efforts by deterring people from seeking HIV testing/treatment, stigmatizing those with HIV, & the communities most impacted by HIV, including POC, women, LGBTQ, sex workers, & the formerly incarcerated. Proud to share the results of our joint work on addressing critical issues in HIV response. Gender and HIV are crucial topics in our efforts. Together, we can drive change and create a more inclusive, effective response to HIV. #HIVResponse #GenderEquality #PublicHealth #Advocacy #HealthcareInnovation
I am delighted to finally (!) share the Gender Assessment of the HIV response that we developed, together with Niginakhon Saida, and the UNAIDS Uzbekistan team led by Charos Maksudova, back in 2022. It's been a long ride, but it is finally here, available in English and Russian (and soon in Uzbek too!). #uzbekistan #hiv #unaids #genderassessment #hivresponse #centralasia #gender #hivaids

Gabriella Palmeri (Head of Partnerships) and Ramin Bastani (CEO) co-authored a feature in LGBTQ Nation for National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, spotlighting the potential of AI in advancing equitable HIV care for Black Americans: "HIV still plagues Black Americans at alarming rates. Could AI be the key to more equitable care?" --> "The disparity in HIV prevalence is particularly pronounced among Black women, who account for 72% of women living with HIV today. CDC data shows that coverage among those who could benefit from PrEP is almost three times higher among males than females - a discrepancy fueled by persistent misconceptions about HIV risk and marketing practices that often exclude women as potential PrEP users. In response, Healthvana's goal is to reach women undergoing routine STI testing to address and bridge this critical disparity in PrEP uptake" - Gabriella Palmeri https://lnkd.in/dPs-BwVb

National Women and Girls HIV Awareness Day spotlights the persistent challenges women and girls face in the fight against HIV. Black and Hispanic women continue to be disproportionately impacted by HIV, underscoring the critical need for accessible HIV prevention and treatment, stigma reduction, and gender equality. Let’s celebrate the progress made and continue to push for sustained commitment to ensure every woman and girl can thrive. Despite being long-time advocates of HIV prevention and care, women are often excluded from conversations about the future of these efforts. Today, we emphasize the need for more research focused on women, the importance of empowering women through education, and our ongoing commitment to amplifying the voices of women affected by HIV. #NWGHAD #StopHIVTogether #BreakTheStigma #KnowYourStatus #UnitedAgainstHIV
