Fun fact about AG Ford, did you know that the mayor of Oakland had her house raided by the FBI recently? You might think "what does that have to do with AG Ford?" Here is an article from the Review Journal (Las Vegas paper) https://lnkd.in/gphp34qR). It appears AG Ford received campaign donations from the same donation machine that has helped candidates like Gavin Newsome, Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden. You may have heard "birds of a feather flock together". One of the lessons learned from my campaign for state senate was seeing first hand the alliances politicians and other groups have that are not open for the public to see. In Nevada, one of the components of our current political establishment is "The Lombardo Machine", which is essentially a group of politicians, PACs, and other groups that want to control as much of the Nevada government as possible; none of this is to better serve the good people of Nevada. I would submit for your consideration that AG Ford accepting money from the same the same machine as Newsome, Harris, and Biden gives you a very clear picture of what exactly their allegiances and agendas are. I'm also pretty tired of the gaslighting. Unelected bureaucrats don't write law, legislative bodies do. Nothing about SCOTUS overturning the Chevron doctrine is anything more than a return to acknowledging the separate branches of government. Presidential immunity has always been important to help avoid things like the political witch hunt against Trump; none of this is about Trump being above the law. The SCOTUS decisions have simply been an opportunity to let Trump not be held to an arbitrary set of legal attacks that are as unfounded as they are unconstitutional. Trump had every right to be treated equally under the law, but instead the establishment invented novel legal theories and violated constitutional protections to attack him. Biden, by contrast, is a man for whom the law does not apply. Biden has no respect for SCOTUS as demonstrated by not only his supporting student loan debt being paid by tax payers (vs the ones that took out the loans), but Biden wasting tax dollars claiming he was going to do it again. Biden wasted tax dollars having that pushed back again, all in an attempt to buy votes with your tax dollars. AG Ford needs to go... along with the rest of the politicians who actively betray the Constitution. #NVLeg #Revolution2024
Attorney General Aaron D. Ford responds to the Supreme Court's opinion on Trump's immunity in Trump v. United States. "Presidents (just like every other public official) are sworn to protect the Constitution, not circumvent it in order to serve their own political ambitions. As we celebrate Independence Day this week, we are reminded of one of our country's founding principles in opposing a tyrannical king. Our founders outlined in the Constitution that we are to vote a president in office through free and fair elections. Yet contrary to our founders, today’s Supreme Court opinion places a man above our Constitution and our justice system. No one is above the law and to preserve our democracy, all must answer for criminal and treasonous acts. Even former Presidents."

The Colorado Supreme Court didn't ban Trump from the presidency: 1) The decision only pertains to Colorado's Republican primary election in March. 2) The Colorado GOP party can reject the state-run primary and just run a caucus, like Iowa does. 3) The Colorado Supreme Court made it so that If Trump appeals the decision and seeks Supreme Court review, then he will appear on the Republican primary election ballots. This means, as it stands now, it will have effectively no impact on his candidacy for President. I read all 213 pages of the Colorado Supreme Court decision, and here is what actually happened and what it means for the country. I also breakdown how the Colorado Supreme Court made its decision, if it was politically motivated, should courts be able to determine elections, and what the "win at all costs" mentality towards our elections means for our democracy. https://lnkd.in/e83rY_iz

In response to Donald Trump's attempt to rig the 2020 election, the US Supreme Court decided to take up a historic constitutional and political dispute by deciding whether Colorado can prevent him from running for president. Arguments in the case will begin on February 8 and the justices will hear it expeditiously. They will examine a ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that stated that by attempting to overturn Joe Biden's election victory and inciting the deadly Capitol assault on January 6, 2021, Trump engaged in insurrection and lost the right to run for president again. Great informative article on why we should not vote for or support Trump. Consider just a few of Trump’s qualities that quite recently would have disqualified him in the eyes of all responsible voices in the discourse. I have no room to do justice to even a fraction, so I’ll have to stick to just keywords: insurrectionist; election denier; pathological liar; corrupt; racist; antisemite; (digital) rapist; serial adulterer; Islamophobe; con man; tax cheat; patsy to dictator; wannabe dictator; isolationist; bully; psychopathically narcissist; sociopath; almost certainly medically demented. We all know I could go on. (I haven’t even mentioned the Democrats’ single best issue: Trump’s proud boast that he was able to “kill Roe v. Wade.”)

Trump has been barred from the Colorado and Maine ballots based on the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment. These are huge legal actions that are constitutionally unprecedented. The implications for our democracy - with a major party frontrunner being thrown off a ballot - are also significant. The outcome of these cases - both of which have been appealed to the Supreme Court - may well hinge on whether the term "any office" in the 14th Amendment includes the Presidency. In this piece, I unpack the legal issues at play in the #trump ballot cases: https://lnkd.in/gfuPBHb2
