Sustainable Real Estate Development Savant

In Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, designers strived to create a low impact urban dwelling, that feels like an escape to paradise. While the facade is in large part floor to ceiling expansive glass windows, solar overhangs act to reduce solar gain to the interior spaces. This allows for maximum views of the natural environment surrounding the structure and for natural indirect sunlight to illuminate the interior spaces. Beautiful towering trees help to naturally shade the site and a water feature helps lower the ground temperature in the area. The building itself utilizes locally sourced natural materials in its construction, the use of local labor as well helps to reduce the buildings overall carbon footprint. This building, shows the capabilities of different building materials and construction techniques ability to also be environmentally conscious. By using natural means of heating and cooling, we can lower the need for energy use and energy waste.
