🏆 Team Vegas Bound
🔹Project: “Designing for Recycling: Increasing Recyclability for Paper Plates”
♻️ Description: High school seniors Emily Arendas, Megan Potthoff, and Heather Smarick from Norwin High School in North Huntingdon, PA, created the winning poster for 2023. Their project redesigned paper plates with a bioplastic cover, facilitating easier recycling by allowing food residue to be removed. Their poster illustrates the improved life cycle of their design and includes a prototype. Thank you to their teacher, Ms. Joyce Muchoney, for supporting their outstanding submission!
🏆 Team Sustainable Dolls

♻️ Description: Third-graders Luciana Nishanian and Sadie Mangal from Willow Springs Elementary School in Fairfax, VA, created the winning video for 2023. Their project showcased sustainable dolls with fully recyclable parts, explaining the new recycling process and their sustainable redesign. A special thanks to their teacher, Ms. Logan Williams, for supporting their incredible submission!
