Weekly Round-Up: Hitting the Ground Running! 🚀 Whilst many are still finding their rhythm and building momentum after the festive period, I decided to dive straight back in, and time has flown by! Here's a snapshot of my productive first week back: ✅ Networking Events: Attended three fantastic events, catching up with existing contacts and making new ones. ▪️ Non-League Networking – Bromsgrove ▪️ Non-League Networking – Stourbridge ▪️ NNBN Network ✅ Prospect Meetings: Held two productive meetings; one in manufacturing and the other in interior design. Excited to share that the latter is moving forward with our offering! ✅ Broker Meetings: Had a positive meeting with a new broker and caught up with existing ones. Plenty going on, and a full diary for next week - As Delia Smith would say, "Let's be 'avin you!" How has your week been? Are you getting back into the groove? Why am I hosting an in person conference? People generally get in touch with me for two reasons: 1. They want to connect with the right person because - they are a provider who wants to find property to lease -they are a property investor who has a property they want to lease to a supported living provider -they want to buy property to lease to a supported living provider 2. They want to learn more about supported living property I have carefully designed the Supported Living Property Network Conference to deliver a packed day and give you direct access to my connections to help you with both of these things. You will leave - With a whole load of new contacts - With a greater understanding supported living property and up to date information from industry leaders - Feeling reinvigorated and inspired Running an in person event is not easy. It’s a lot of work. To be honest it’s tiring and frustrating. There have been venue issues, people cancelling, leaving me to reorganise things at the last minute and lots of other challenges. But I know the impact of getting so many people in a room. I know that supported living homes were created from the relationships built at the last conference. This is what drives me to put on this amazing event and to make sure it delivers value for every attendee. We really do things differently, this is not another boring networking even! Walks are typically 6 - 8 kms and gravel rides are typically 12 - 16km. Canoe conversations typically involve around 2 hours on the water including visits to islands and crannogs. We offer an optional discussion theme but of course you may have other topics you want to explore. Some folks bring a business challenge and tap into the wisdom of the group. Others want to network. And others just fancy a bit of safe headspace. 🐶 welcome on the walks. WHAT IS THE PRICE? All events are free other than Canoe Conversations which are at a cost price of £65.00+ VAT. SAFETY? These are all entry-level events. No experience needed. They are led by business people who are also very experienced national governing body qualified leaders with in-date first aid qualifications. The running joke is that people in the suburbs of Chicago say they’re from the city because it’s just easier. Well…we’ve got to say it here too: A Chicago business is IN Chicago. Not Naperville or Schaumburg. That’s Chicagoland. BIG difference. Why? Because city people do city things and suburb people do suburb things. It’s just a fact. And trying to pretend we’re all the same when planning events is pretty naive. If someone works in the same vicinity, they are a much better target for events and meetings. Nothing against either but would you rather go 20 minutes away by bus/train/cab or 90 minutes away with car traffic? We are still in a world that favors video via Zoom, which I welcome in the name of time and expense. But if you are giving an in-person event, from workshop to networking, know what’s realistic for people traveling when thinking about numbers. I’ve been the 1 of 2 city dwellers in an event way out there more times than I can count. I’ve seen vice versa. I get made fun of sometimes for this view like I’ll never leave the city limits (not true, I like planes out of Midway to clients in other places all over the US) but hey, if you’d like to give me 5 hours of my rate in dollars when I walk through the door, I’ll be there. Pick your spots wisely.

Plus, cakes, we have someone who makes such delightful cakes. I am getting hungry just writing about them. Then there’s our printer, he has so many items he would love to chat about. We are more than just a group of businesspeople who meet once a week. We are a group of people who work together, play sport together, relax together, celebrate each other’s triumphs, and support each other through those dark times we all go through. Let’s talk about Flexibility, Problem-Solving, and the Power of Teamwork in Action… First and foremost, my thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating fires in the LA area. The impact is profound, and my heart goes out to all those impacted. Over the past few months, my team and I have been working with a client to plan their sales kick-off event, which begins tomorrow. On Wednesday, however, we faced an unexpected challenge—due to the fires, we had to relocate the event out of Hermosa Beach to provide space for those displaced. If you’ve ever organized an event, you know that changing venues is almost like starting from scratch. But this is where the magic of a great team comes in. Cue Hamilton Raye — Within 48 hours, we reworked the entire event—location, logistics, and everything in between. The pressure was on, but I couldn’t be prouder of how my team rallied together to find a solution. Admittedly, there were a few moments where I wasn’t sure how we’d pull it off, but we did. A lot of coffee and a little bit of sweat later, we’re almost there! Huge shout-out to Andrea’ Scannell and Kelsie Watson —my right and left hands over the past few days. Your support and dedication made all the difference.
