🚀 Exploring a New Career Venture: Maintenance Consulting 🛠 As I consider launching a interim senior living facilities maintenance/consulting venture, I envision providing comprehensive support to senior living facilities, filling/healing the gap between directors. This starts with thorough assessments of environmental operations, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. From there, I'll develop customized plans tailored to their specific needs and goals, implementing new protocols, systems, and vendors for enhanced efficiency, all while assuring the facility stays compliant and safe. But my support extends beyond process optimization as I will be helping facilities get physically organized and setting up future maintenance personnel for success. I'll also assist in finding the right candidates, hiring maintenance and housekeeping personnel by identifying individuals who are not only skilled, but aligned with the facility's culture and values. I'm curious to hear what you think about this idea. Do you believe it could bring significant value to senior living facilities? Your feedback is appreciated! #MaintenanceConsulting #SeniorLiving #ProcessOptimization #FacilityManagement #MaintenanceDirector #StaffRecruitment #BusinessIdeas #ConsultingServices #FeedbackWelcome

Educational Facility Leader at Aramark Facility Services- Advocate for Improving Educational Environments through Superior Facilities Management.
Facilities Management has to be the most misunderstood profession... I've pondered over this for the last 6 years and I believe it to be very true. I couldn't even list every responsibilty in a single post without being character limited. The most misunderstood is the perception of a facility manager. When most think of a facility manager, they think of a person wearing "dirty" clothes and having rough hands that are covered in grease. They think of the words maintenance person, handyman, jack-of-all-trades, custodian, janitor, etc. What most don't think of is the professional side of Facilities Management. It's one of THE MOST complex fields of management. You're responsible for assets valued in the millions- top to bottom. It also takes education. Life-long education. More education than is required to earn a tracked college degree. Also, there ARE college degrees for Facilities Management. That's how valuable the position and field is. The skillset needed to be a successful Facilities Manager is enormous. It isn't just built with many years of working in maintenance/trades fields. It's a discipline way beyond the working experience. There are specific ways to run an efficient and budget responsible facility while creating a sustainable environment. It's seem easy, but it isn't. Very few people have what it takes or possess the desire to be a Facilities Manager. The professionalism of the position and field needs to be recognized.
