The sensational global reaction to the IO-12 just keeps coming, most recently from the highly respected though normally very critical PhileWeb of Japan. “The clarity of voices and instrument sounds is clearer and more beautiful than anything you've ever heard before.” Read the whole glowing review here: https://lnkd.in/eHWu5HsE

In 1946, Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo K.K. started as a small company with a capital of just 190,000 yen and approximately 20 employees. The Founder Masaru Ibuka said the purpose of setting up the company was to "establish an ideal factory that stresses a spirit of freedom and open-mindedness that will, through technology, contribute to Japanese culture". 79 years later, here we are with Sony as an industrial king. You cannot talk about the history of technology without talking about Sony, It is just impossible. They didn't just build a great business they transformed industries and touched the very essence of how humans interacted with technology. A great fit or a company that was rooted in the ashes of post-war Japan. Sometimes learning about history isn't just about knowing what happened or how it happened... it's about connecting with the very essence of their human spirit and experiences that propelled them at that point in time, ravaged from war, with every excuse not to get things done they grew into an ecosystem giant disrupting every industry they step into. Enjoy the #history of #sony and don't bother thanking me for bringing it to your timeline,.. because you're very much welcome! https://lnkd.in/dva2-ZPF

Are megastar concerts the new Olympics? When TayTay's tickets went on presale in Singapore at 12pm on a Wednesday afternoon, entire offices came to a standstill. The online queue for tickets went into the millions. Tickets to the just-concluded Coldplay concert were equally impossible to get a hold of and elicited a similar frenzy among the populace. And, as recent concerts show, the economic boost of acts like these and Beyonce or Jacky Cheung is no joke. Fans will even fly into places like Tokyo and Singapore from around the region--even in the middle of winter in Tokyo's case--to see these performers. There are of course significant differences between these events and Olympics, but in terms of investment versus economic return, it is an interesting comparison..
The "Swiftonomics" effect on Japan from Taylor Swift's four days of shows in Tokyo that kicked off Wednesday is estimated to reach around ¥34.1 billion.

In the "Embodied Interaction" master's course at Uppsala University, I am experiencing an unprecedented shift in thinking. I've realized the need to closely observe the world we inhabit and understand the significance of each action I take. I aim to explore the possibilities of integrating the body closely with informatics. With the rise of wearable devices and AR/VR interactions, the body has once again come to the forefront of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). I wrote this article to revisit discussions about the body and embodiment, and explore what HCI has undergone.

Huawei's CEO Ren Shares Huawei's Secrets to Success Surprise, surprise....in this video short, Ren said he never thought America was unfair or unfriendly to Huawei. In his own words, Huawei has to learn from America, whose path from its humble beginnings 200 years ago to greatness is due to America's openness, big heart and embrace of all that is in the world. Despite the rancorous sanctions and the illegal detention of his daughter, the Founder of Huawei still calls America a friend. Huawei isn't targeting any entity as a rival, but considers everyone a friend. For the record, Huawei has officially discouraged the trend of nationalism and patriotism in Chinese consumers’ choice of buying a smart phone, emphasizing that the choice should be based purely on one’s own needs. Just an amazing attitude...no wonder Huawei is the powerhouse that it is today. The world needs more leaders who think like him. #huawei #technology #uschina #uschinawar

What makes us stand out in the grand scheme of things? It's the core of our uniqueness. Which, in essence, lies in the delicate dance of consciousness. Imagine this: a realm where our awareness is shaped by spiritual, chemical, and metaphysical forces. These unseen influences create the beautiful symphony of our consciousness. It's like a cosmic ballet where spirituality, the chemistry of our being, and mysterious metaphysical elements intertwine. Wait, this is said about the human brain! We seek to imprint our individuality upon the canvas of consciousness, a desire to harmonize with the cosmic forces that define our existence. Come with me on a journey through the realms of philosophy and spirituality. Together, let's explore what it truly means to be unique in a world increasingly influenced by the wonders of Artificial Intelligence. 🌌💭✨ We delve into a phenomenon known as ego death, a state where the confines of individual perception fade, and consciousness transcends the bounds of a body. Picture it as the sublime triumph of reason over the limitations of our senses, a concept embraced by none other than Immanuel Kant. This ethereal journey finds its reflection in art, notably in Max Cooper and Kevin McGloughlin's Resynthesis(https://lnkd.in/eabwKftu). The video takes us on a visual exploration, transforming landscapes and cityscapes, offering a glimpse into altered perceptions—a taste of ego death. Yet, to truly capture the essence of ego death, we need more than visuals; we need a tunnel of consciousness. Such content must be generative, adapting to real-time parameters or even guided by therapeutic intentions. Imagine a video that not only captivates the eyes but also resonates as a life-changing experience. This is the nexus of generative content, music, and a profound immersive experience—a symphony for the senses. The pinnacle of this journey is the return to reality, the integration of this profound experience into our daily lives. Language models play a crucial role. They encapsulate the entire audio-visual-mental encounter into a single sentence, guiding us back to the tangible realm. Let me give an example from Viktor Pelevin's Generation P: "Mind is like a ball attached to a world with strings of sensory perception. It is what it is and is nothing but that. And death? Death does not exist, because the strings disappear, but the ball remains. " Does the example give you a sense of resolution? Let me know in the comments! Ego death digitalized requires technology—brain processing, content generation, and language modelling. The economic model leans towards accessibility; you need not own the hardware and software. As we gaze into the future, the convergence of technologies—AI-generated videos, high-latency IoT devices, and advanced language models—provides a promising trajectory, potentially bringing about the age of ego death by 2030. 🌌✨💭

💡 How to Fit a Square Peg in a Round Hole: Make the Hole Bigger or Make the Peg Smaller 💡 Its hard to believe that Sony started in warn torn Japan as a small radio repair company. The company’s first product was an electric rice cooker which could barely do the one thing it was designed to do. Founded in 1946, Sony was known as Tokyo Tsushin Kenkyujo (TTK), despite facing multiple failures, Masaru Ibuka, Sony's visionary founder kept testing new products. After achieving modest success in Tape recorders. He recognized the importance of staying abreast of global electronics trends and seizing new opportunities. The breakthrough came when Ibuka learned about transistors in 1952, leading to the creation of TTK's successful TR-55 transistor radio. But it was the vision for the world's smallest transistor radio, the TR-63, that truly set Sony on a path to success. Recognizing the potential of the USA market, Sony took two critical steps. First, they rebranded from the less memorable TTK to Sony, derived from the Latin word "Sonus," meaning "sound." This new name perfectly encapsulated the essence of the company's focus on radios and sound technology. Secondly, the challenge of marketing the "Pocket Radio" TR-63 was ingeniously tackled. The radio was marketed as pocket radio, but it didn’t fit the typical businessman’s dress shirt pocket. To tackle this problem, Sony tailored custom-made shirts with slightly larger pockets for its sales team, ensuring that the TR-63 fit snugly and comfortably. This clever move not only made the product more appealing but also created a buzz around its innovative design and portability. The success of the TR-63 marked Sony's entry into the USA market and set the stage for their iconic Walkman, one of the company's most beloved and successful products. This story serves as a reminder that sometimes, to fit a square peg in a round hole, you need to think outside the box. #Innovation #Adaptation #Sony #SuccessStory #ThinkOutsideTheBox
