Tips & Techniques Tuesday Harnessing the Power of the Sea: Mastering Wave Movement in Your Art Ready to capture the raw energy and fluid motion of ocean waves in your artwork? Today, we're diving into the art of illustrating seascapes that truly come to life. Inspired by the stunning work of seascape painter Katharine Burns, here’s how you can bring that same dynamic movement to your canvas. Step 1: Observe real waves—whether through videos or a visit to the shore. Pay attention to how the water rolls, crashes, and recedes. Step 2: Use sweeping, curved lines in your artwork to mimic the fluidity of water. This will help create the sense of motion that’s so essential in wave painting. Step 3: Incorporate the finer details, like foam and spray, by using lighter colors and small, stippled brushstrokes. These touches add realism and depth to your seascape. Step 4: Layer your work. Building up your painting with layers will add depth, making your waves appear as though they’re about to crash right out of the canvas. Want to dive deeper into techniques like these? Join "The Inspired Artist: Art-on-the-Trail Community," where we explore weekly nature-inspired art activities together. Connect with other artists, share your work, and grow in a supportive environment. Such wonderful work and a lesson: painting is always a good idea.
My father, who has been painting for 30+ years in his spare time and now retirement, had a gallery opening last night in NYC. Www.Ronaldweintraub.com.

Painter - Thinker - Fine Artist - Finally, my new profession is to paint for pleasure, outside the box of the art market.
To make art genuinely accessible to every social class, it must pivot back to storytelling and imagination to find the correct combination of genius and ingenuity that characterises humans. Finally, I managed to get out of the job market, and I have conquered freedom; as an amateur artist, in the sense that I produce my works for pleasure, I do not deny the past. Instead, my work and that of searching among the masterpieces of the past, but also sometimes of the present, figures, details, glimpses, and combinations of colours, reassemble them into new entities that make sense to me and the public. In short, I act like artificial intelligence, fishing in the art’s history and mechanically reassembling, while I, as said, add and distinguish all with ingenuity and incredible talent, recreating unique pieces but with recognisable roots. Exactly what I have done with Amedeo Modigliani's masterpiece, Anna’s Portrait, and adding my twist. I was introducing my latest creation, D8 Sylvester AM. Where D stand for debunking project, 8 is the serial number, Sylvester is the painting subject, and AM is the initial of Amedeo Modigliani. It is an original oil on canvas piece, 80x60cm. Inspired by the Fauvism style, this artwork has funny features, such as Sylvester the cat being terrified and screaming. #Fauvism, #AmedeoModigliani, #modernart, #oilpainting, #Reah, #renzostreglio

The hellish animal, the Wolf of Darkness! This one was really challenging for me because I usually use lines to create shapes and objects in space. However, I really want to return to painting (a method of shapes searching I haven't used since university), so this Wolf became the first piece of this process (as part of Smirnov School competition for concept artists (https://lnkd.in/gG29ZYd4)). #ConceptArtistRPG #ConceptArtistRPGX

This is "Labyrinthus," one of my op art pieces that has the characteristic of creating illusory colors when scrolled up and down. The horizontal lines of the artwork will appear yellowish, while the vertical lines will appear bluish. Though not new, the effect is particularly surprising here!
